$37m is left on his deal

$41m for some other guy who bats right handed. Carroll, McCarthy, and Thomas are left handed.

Who is saying no if the Marlins also send them Barnes to net off the salary effectively 1-1. I will trust Nardi/Soriano to fill that "void."

Bumgarner can't be this bad right? Last two years a 4.8 FIP. I do know he is a west coast guy so Miami might not be his thing.

Because his last name is Bumgarner? He’s garbage. Pass.

On top of being garbage, there is this. No way he comes here.

Let’s move on to the next hypothetical.

TLDR - Giants got 1 expected run in their favor from bad balls/strikes, but Giants also got some rough calls. Not a great game considering that would have been the winning run in normal game time. Marlins got unlucky here.

4 pitches that were strikes up in the strike zone were called balls, and 4 pitchers that were balls up in the strike zone were called strikes. Doesn't make sense.

3 worst calls of the game went against Marlins. An unfortunate set of calls. You can see the graphic better on twitter - https://twitter.com/UmpScorecards/st...me_id%3D718511

Those 7 strike calls that are balls are terrible. 9/10 of those 15 wrong calls should never have happened basically. Bring on the robots.

he would make the minimum once he clears waivers. no one is taking on his salary. They wouldnt take garcia because garcia has 2 more years after this year and bumgarner has just 1.

he might be, but worth a shot when the other options are smeltzer, chi chi gonzalez, and bryan hoeing until eury is ready or cueto comes back. he'd make the minimum.

And no one is taking on Garcia's salary so it's a wash. And maybe Arizona believes he can improve and/or the teams work on some payments to deflect year 3 payments.

Does Arizona want a few week/month tryout of Garcia and do we think Bumgarner has anything left? That's the question. It could very well be NO on Bumgarner. I don't know, but converting Garcia money into a SP may be useful right now to clear the way for Burdick/Jerar/Sanchez to sink or swim. Throw in Hampson, Hinojosa, and all of them here too. Roster roulette.

I was thinking the same thing. He will continue to suck here and if we trade him, we would probably eat some money, and he would finally bounce back
