good to see him get on, but it's a ton of seeing eye singles. he has 2 extra base hits all year and had a .385 BABIP coming into today plus a 96 WRC+

87th percentile average EV. He's going to be pretty good if he maintains a 25% K rate. The XBH hits are likely coming with this profile. He's hitting screamers for nearly every one of those singles. He's going to maintain being a high BABIP guy for sure, so yes that is high, but it's also not 85 points high.

The defense is not great though so far and any hope those LF stats prior to this year were indicative he was good is fading. I would consider getting him some grounders at 1B and maybe he moves there next year.

This also then makes a trade for an OF more tenable if you see what I am saying here.

the defense is not great is kind of an understatement but regardless, i hope the extra base hits are coming. The peripherals are almost identical to last year. launch angle is down, barrel % is down, hard hit % is identical, k% is exactly what it was last year. And the babip is pretty high.

okert's rehab stint has been super long. he was predicted to come back last friday. He pitched again there today. Id guess he's back friday.
