BTW, the braves coming into todays series finale have scored a total of 48 runs against us in the first 6 games this year. Not ideal.

Thankfully, May 5th thru June 15th is our softest stretch of the season.
If they are really clever, they could get him a spot start against Oakland/KC 6/2-6/7, immediately send him down, then call back up 6/17-6/18 @Wash, a home Pittsburgh start 6/22-6/23, an @ Boston 6/28-6/29, and a home 7/3-7/4 vs St. Louis, and then close out 1st half with 7/9 against Philly. Then send his ass back down to AAA for 10 days with the excuse of "keeping him on a pitching schedule" ala Garrett, and get him back for the Colorado series 7/21 and then set him and forget him for hopefully 6.5 seasons minimum. Oak/KC, @Wash, Pitt, @Bos, STL, Phi, Col, (and then Det.), is a pretty cushy first 8 games + deflecting super 2 status. It gets brutal after that but is maximizing starts and Bruce's wallet.
If they call him up earlier, it suggests that they believe he is going to be so good, the service time status doesn't matter when compared to they will give him a $50m contract within a year (with some options to ballon to $100m, ala Hunter Greene) over the next 7-10 seasons. This may be the case with the FV65 class player if they just want to bet that extension is coming no matter what.
However big picture, I don't think they are going to throw away the super 2 status in a year they clearly are not contending with numerous holes, a -52 run differential, and 10-0 record in 1 run games. I think that Pittsburgh home series is the likely call up in June just to keep it simple, debut at home, and not send him up and down a few times.

i just dont know how you can continue to have stallings on this team. Go get Tim anderson from the sox and see if you can pry Yasmani grandal's expiring contract from them as well and go for it. Anderson would give us a SS for this year and next and Grandal would give us a massive upgrade on Stallings and Fortes for the balance of the year. It would require taking on some money, but i think those 2 pieces could make this team a contender. IDC what it would take outside of Eury. Im tired of the prospect hoarding. You freak out when you see trades announced because they are names you have followed for a few years, when realistically the vast majority of them never pan out. Go get 2 guys who can really help this team compete this year. The sox are going to blow it up at some point. Go give them some prospects and get it done. grandal probably isnt realistic, but they should be doing everything possible to convince them to trade anderson.
they could offset some of the money by including wendle's expiring. It would be adding to the payroll, which will never happen, but it's absolutely the direction they should go in.

Do you guys think the Marlins will ever have a good team again? By that I don’t mean a team that plays .500 ball or a team that makes the playoffs. I mean a good team that you feel like could win on any given day.
I lean towards no.
