It's why i stopped going to heat games too. Getting there and then getting in and out of there is awful. I dont blame them for moving down there because they really had no other choice, but dont blame fans from further north for not going to the games now when it is miserable to actually get there, plus the owner doesnt seem to give a flying fuck or have enough money to run the team, so im not going to reward that with my money.
Broward County made it crystal clear they didn’t want the new (highly necessary) retractable roof baseball stadium in their county.

My original point remains: if you can’t leave work a little early TWO or THREE times a year to beat the traffic (it’s ridiculously easy to get to the parking garages if you arrive 90 min before first pitch -I do it a dozen times a year) then you suck as a Marlins fan.

TWO or THREE times a year.

Obviously leaving work early more than that can be a hardship.

I’m good watching at home. I can’t and won’t leave work 2 hours early to get to the stadium 90 minutes early to do…. What? They haven’t invested and done anything to improve the areas around the ballpark? No bars or any kind of restaurants ever went into the bottom floor of the parking garages. And I’m not spending my money on a product that Sherman won’t spend his own money on to improve. Maybe that will change if he doesn’t have a bottom 10 payroll for once and stops playing bullshit service time games in the middle of playoff chases when we are good for the first time in like 20 years.

I support the team and watch every game, he’s not going to get my money and I’m not going to make the effort to go to games until he makes an effort to act like a major league owner. Judging by the shitty attendance all year I’m not alone. I’ve gone to 1-2 games a year every year since he’s been here, but I’m done with that until he becomes a real owner. I have season tickets for the panthers and dolphins, I have enough

      • In fairness if there was consistent good attendance there would be demand to open businesses in those parking garage retail spaces of which there are many IIRC.

He’s not entitled to crowds, you earn crowds. Behave like a major league owner with good payrolls and sustained success and maybe people will come out more. Steven Ross got me back as a season ticket holder even though he’s a buffoon because he pours a ton of money into his team to make it an amazing game day experience even in 95 degree weather

            Oh, I agree with you.

My dream is a Dodgers style of ownership where someone like the young guy that owns the Grizzlies is the main investor and a relatively cash poor(by MLB standards) owner like Sherman is just part of the group.

Yup, they need an owner with deep pockets and vision to be ok with losing money for a few years with the understanding that you will build a consistently successful team and a much more devoted fan base over time

              • It’s not possible to hit more weak grounders to a middle infielder than wendle. It is beyond absurd at this point

                • Here we go again with Robertson. Grief.

                  • Hey, maybe we take note of how fucking awful Robertson has been since he got here and stop using him in huge spots

                    • Bickford has some pretty awful numbers in a large sample this year. Can we make them pay and finish this game off please

                      • Guy is nowhere close to the plate so naturally stallings swings on 3-1. How do he and wendle continue to play?

                        • I just want to say also….

If anyone here is a diehard Marlins fan and they just enjoy watching the games from the comfort of their homes I TOTALLY get it. Please do and enjoy.

But I can’t stand hearing people who go to less than 2 games a year bitch, moan and complain about the location of the stadium, time of games etc etc

Go on a fucking weekend and get their 90 min before first pitch and I guarantee you will sail in and out of the ballpark. If you say it’s impossible, you’re lying because as I’ve said, I do it at least a dozen times a year.

                          • Edwards for stallings would have made way too much sense to lead off the inning

                            • Josh bell leads off the next inning. Super small sample but he is 2 of 3 with a walk lifetime off ottavino. Jazz has never faced him

                              • Home plate ump letting us know he’s there with the exact same terrible call twice in the last 2 innings. We got the benefit of the Robertson one and the jazz one pretty much ended the game
