I’ve been really impressed by Fortes’ defense. He looks like a completely different catcher back there. I’ve always thought Fortes could be a guy that could give you a .700 OPS at the big leagues. A catcher who can give you a .700 OPS with good defense is a starter these days.

Connor Scott is in the midst of another sub-700 OPS season at AA. Zach Thompson looks like a AAAA starting pitcher and Kyle Nicolas looks like he’ll be a pretty good reliever if he can stay healthy. I don’t see how we gave up so much.

That’s more annoying to you than the fact that Stallings was a 2.6 WAR player last season and is currently a -0.7 while Alfaro is batting cleanup for the Padres tonight?
