They need to just dump all 3 of Sierra, Harrison, and Brinson. Sierra first, flip a coin on the other two. All 3 are garbage, but there can still be a "best" of the garbage - without much going on this year, it doesn't matter who plays now....but get rid of them all after the season.

I agree. It's an offseason thing absent an unusual development. I'd play Brinson everyday. I do find it interesting he basically has a .700 OPS, with an evaporated walk rate and .302 BABIP. He is still a plus athlete, so his BABIP should be higher. He should be walking more, even if that only ticks up to say 5-6%. He has undeniable power in the (rare) event he makes contact so any improvement there helps. It's like we all said 5 years ago, if this guy hits .240 with the minor league walk rate and power, he is a decent enough starter. He's been sucking forever, but he's still just 27 and maybe he is a late bloomer?

I'm not expecting much from him, but I'm rooting for the guy to hit .240/.300/.425+ which should give him enough confidence to remember he should be a plus defender. He'll hang around the league another 5 years if he can do that. It doesn't change much for the organization, but maybe you tender him for 2022 if you believe he is that kind of guy for a 4th outfielder.

Basically, I give him August and September and hope for the best. I fully expect a DFA though.

the sad fact is you're probably right, but that all falls on the failures of the front office. Right now, they have failed way too much to expect them to all of a sudden get things right. This rebuild is not going well enough to expect nothing more than an 81-81 type team at best from them....and an 81-81 BORING AF team at that.....

What front office failures after Yelich? Yea, that one was a monumental failure, but where else have they failed? I don't see anything, except maybe they should have spent on 2 major free agents this offseason but hard to judge during a pandemic.

The pitching is awesome. This keeps going back to, they need to obtain 1500+ majorly improved PA for next year. None of us know if they do it, so let's wait and see. If they fail in that, I have no words. Everything is set up once they get the bat upgrades to play around Anderson, Jazz, Rojas, Aguilar, Sanchez, Cooper, etc.

another 2 hits for brinson. since may up to an .846 OPS, pretty good average at .282, and a wrc+ of 129. even the OBP up to .311 in that time which obviously isnt great but is passable if he hits with the power he has shown in that time with a slugging percentage of .535. WAR up to .2 for the year. give him everyday ab's in CF the rest of the year. His hard hit rate since may is 40.4% which would put him 15th in the league if he qualified for the number of at bats necessary.

You can say he has had enough chances but there is no question he has earned the starting role for at least the last 2 months at this point. Then from there you can reevaluate and see if he can become a useful 4th OF for next year or even a corner OF starter if there are injuries.
