  • another tremendous outing for sixto. 4 starts, 25 IP, 25 K, 2 BB, 1.80 ERA, .92 WHIP. Legit ace already. If we can make the playoffs i can see us winning a round with him pablo and sandy as our 3 guys.

good start to this week. need a huge W tomorrow with Pablo on the mound for us and millone on the mound for the braves.

i doubt they let this happen but if the phils dont re-sign jt that is a disastrous trade for them. they have no choice now but to write him a blank check.

nick vincent, bleier, and hoyt have all been really huge additions. we have like 0 power arms in the bullpen but still 4-6 guys we can somewhat feel ok when they are in the game- Kintzer, boxburger, vincent, bleier, hoyt, yimi.

also we have a higher win percentage than the yankees

    • Sixto had the 4th best Expected ERA in MLB before tonights start. And Atlanta routinely clobbers teams with their bats.

      • Is Edward Cabrera still hurt?

Apparently he just started throwing on September 2nd. What his ailment was/is this year, I've yet to been able to find out. The thought is he's not stretched out enough yet. Hopefully that thought is wrong.

Just imagine if Miami picked someone beside Will Stewart. Our scouts had him as ranked as #1 LHP and #3 or 4 arm in Phillies system

They just have said minor muscle injury in arm. He isn't close to being ready

Also, Craig Mish, shot down any possibility of Cabrera making one of the doubleheader starts this week.
Likely SP over this crazy schedule is Neidert/Josh A Smith/Dugger/Castano

Remember its only 7 inning games so 3 or 4 innings all they need to give u- Neidert is next up and likely will be Yamamoto sent down/Schafer DFA or Leibrandt 45 Day with Neidert added

            • Is Leibrandt injured? He's been pretty good for us.

I just feel like if you allow Dugger and Castano to pitch meaningful innings in that Phillies series you're not being serious about making the playoffs. So Cabrera's not stretched out, even if he can only give you 40-50 pitches that's better than Dugger/Castano giving you 40-50 pitches.

"Injured" I guess. Needed his spot for guys YES

They put him on 10 Day DL with ulnar issue after got scored on finally. Might see him again IF they dont need his spot. If they need his spot then 60 Day DL

Castano isn't bad with 3/4 innings especially if u have a LHB heavy team

We still got Neidert/Holloway/Brigham/Northcraft sitting in ATS and Sean Rodriguez too(5 guys). All are healthy just no 40 man spot so havent been taken off yet. Cant DFA a young guy yet cause would be claimed(Castano/Dugger/Guzman) and the vets have been pretty solid(Hoyt/Vincent)

                • Castano’s xFIP is 5.73 so he isn’t good, either. We need good pitching to make the playoffs.

                  • Really puzzled about Yamamoto getting called up, they aren't looking at him for one of those Doubleheader starts are they?

If tj's assertion that Leibrandt isn't really injured is correct, then it really doesn't make sense.

                    • Checked on my favorite free agent pick for Marlins ... Brad Miller. Leads Cardinals in homers/rbi. Over .900 OPS and over .400 OBP. Not bad for $2M (less two thirds for short season).

Makes me wonder why Braxton Garrett hasn't been summoned. Some like his potential more than Trevor Rogers (albeit not me).

                      • anyone know how to go about comparing the velocity out of our bullpen to teams around the league? Not individual players but the team bullpen as a whole? Seems like in an age where everyone is throwing 95+ out of the pen all of our guys throw like 90

                        • Braves (with the starting pitching disadvantage on paper) are the favorite tonight.

With a win here on #PabloDay, the Marlins can clinch a winning road record for the 2020 season.

Last time that the team was over .500 on the road was 2009.
