Atlanta Braves braves
·
2m
The #Braves today placed INF Ozzie Albies (right wrist bone contusion) and INF Matt Adams (strained left hamstring) on the 10-day injured list, recalled C Alex Jackson to Atlanta and reinstated OF Nick Markakis from the restricted list.
Well, we might have a chance this year

Jury is still out on JT trade but we have sucked the last 2 years and he would be leaving as a free agent after this year. IF sixto is a top of the rotation guy for the next 6 years you got a good rotation piece for a guy who would have left after 2 more non-competitive seasons.
The trades other than yelich were fine and the way they have rebuild the farm system to be sustainable and competitive for the next 5 years.

Lets not talk about Stanton at all cause everyone knows about my issue with that. Ill stop crying if Guzman becomes as solid RP and Devers hits
Ill trade anytime Seattle calls!!

the stanton trade is a win based solely on us not having to pay him into his late 30's in this market. anythign we get from them is icing on top of the cake. the guy is already injury prone and he's just turning 30 now. the end of that contract is going to be pujols-esque

I’m actually the same (29 years old). But I don’t mind our history that much. I actually have a bunch to tell my grandkids if I ever have any. The types of things that have happened to the Marlins in my lifetime haven’t happened to any other team. That includes some positives like I got to watch them win the World Series two times. Hopefully there will be more positive moments in these next few years.

Being a Marlins fan has actually been way better than being a Panthers hockey fan, which is completely blah.

In my lifetime (90s) I've watched the Marlins win two championships, and roll out a handful of loveable underdog teams that were competitive for large portions of the year. They've also put out some truly terrible teams that lost my attention a couple months into the year. Overall as a South Florida sports fan, the Marlins have been significantly more enjoyable to follow than the Dolphins. The Heat speak for themselves but I did not enjoy the Lebron era championships anywhere near the Marlins 03 championship just because of expected they were. I'd rank the experiences as a fan:
1a. Heat
1b. Marlins
3. Dolphins
4. Panthers
5. FIU
6. Canes (they were 5th until last year )

Yeah as far as professional sports moments go, the Marlins occupy probably about all the top 10 moments for me of my teams. Some of that is because baseball is my favorite sport, so the Marlins are always #1 to me, but also my other teams have pretty much been awful for most of my lifetime. I'm a Magic, Jaguars, Panthers fan. 0 titles between those 3. College Football is the only thing that rivals the MLB for me. I grew up a Nebraska fan in the 90s which was nice, and now as a UCF Alumni/Fan the last decade has been pretty fun for me when it comes to College Football.

I can easily see two very good performances by starters tonight, assuming they will be Hernandez and Yamamoto. The pen is another story.
What were your views of Hoyt last night? I thought his line was deceiving after he got away with multiple hangers in his inning.

The dolphins for me might take the cake however if they win a super bowl over another marlins title. I love the dolphins and our family had season tickets 4 rows up from the end zone for years before we gave them up because it was way too hot to watch that many punts and shitty games.
Its crazy how many marlins memories i have though from those early 2000s and that 2003 season. I was there for so many of those games during that run. Went to every home playoff game so that had a ton of memories from Jose Cruz jr missing an easy pop fly to conine to pudge at the plate. Was there for the dontrelle 1 or 2 hitter against i believe the mets in the middle of the year. Just so many memories that id love to add to in a ballpark with AC and a lot of fans once we turn it around into a consistent winner for the first time in franchise history.

Bleier on the other hand is a legit addition. I'm excited to see whichever one of the 2 josh smiths in our bullpen is pretty decent as well as nick vincent. I think this might actually work out in our favor in terms of the bullpen because of our ability to take the next few weeks to see which of these guys might stick. Our bullpen stunk as it was constructed on opening day so this might give us the opportunity to make the best out of a bad situation by adding a couple decent to good arms for the rest of the year and possibly beyond.
and i bet on the marlins in both games today so i'm feeling good about today. 1 out of 2 is a must but i could definitely see both. The orioles lineup is pretty sub par and yamamoto and hernandez can handle that and we dont have to see as much of our pen as a result of the 2 7 inning games.
