Added note: Watched a Monday broadcast of ATL/Miami game on youtube. Atlanta's announcers, led by John Smoltz, are fantastic, at least by comparison to our duo. Only thing we have going for us is Kelly Saco.

I quickly got tired of Smoltz' every other comment being positive for the Braves.

When the initial list of potential broadcasters was announced, I know I wanted Scott Braun to be the guy - he's a young guy so he'd be here a long time, and I've liked him listening to him on MLB Network.

I was thinking the same thing. Hoyt's definitely been good in the fireman role, but because he's been good in that role it seems Mattingly just refuses to let him start an inning.
