    I missed Jazz. He's #97

    Jazz Chisholm
    MarlinsSS
    Notes:
    Final 2019 Ranking: Unranked
    Tools: Hit: 50 | Power: 60 | Run: 55 | Fielding: 55 | Arm: 55
    2019 Average Exit Velo: 92

Skinny: Chisholm is a potential star who could be a 20-20 shortstop if he reaches his lofty ceiling. There’s a lot of concern that he won’t come close to that, however, thanks to prodigious swing-and-miss issues that explain why he hit .220 last year.

    • Sixto tidbit: He has never had a minor league season in which he struck out a batter per inning.

If Max Meyer becomes a lesser performer than everyone's consensus guy, Asa Lacy, the Marlin scouts will have some 'splaining to do. Both are signing for the allotted money for their slots.

will you give him more than a month or will you go full bleday. I would have gone lacy too but the mlb draft is such a crapshoot. Meyer as legit stuff i just am a little concerned about his long term durability but comparing picks in the mlb draft this soon is pointless.

Did they? I read that Lacy got a little bit over slot, and Meyer a little under. Either way, probably not enough to make an impact on the pick when you look at the rest of the Marlins' class of all college pitchers outside of Dax.

It will be interesting to see. I really didn't like it at the time, and would still probably have gone Lacy or Martin, but it does seem like Meyer actually has the higher ceiling of the two pitchers.

Ya both are pretty much slot. Thats the game that all these guys play they ask for the moon(FWIW Lacy didnt ask us for lots more than slot BUT was more than slot) then get picked and its take it or leave it. St Louis/TB are the teams that always play this game and they always WIN

Miami liked Meyer as much as Lacy then when got the underslot # they took him. Taking Meyer got us another 1st Rd Arm in Dax Fulton so not to mad anymore-if we took Lacy who knows?

              • Thanks for this transaction update. Milton Smith wasn't that bad (MiL Mags Sierra would be his comp).

He can hit but is 5'9 160 as a 22 yr old. Alot better OF who can hit and have power. Plus JD Orr is the exact same player

Should be seeing lots of action thru Sunday!! Releases/DFA/Trades/FA Signings

                  • Still no news on undrafted guys? As far as I know there have only been two. You'd think Jeter could have done better.

                    • Marlin prospect stats for 2019. Great for measuring their relative performance.

it is quite literally the opposite of being great for measuring their relative performance. how many times do you have to be shown that age relative to competition matters

?? It's a nice list of the Marlin top thirty or so prospects. You can make of it whatever you choose ... or nothing at all. You're welcome.

Signed 3 guys. Have heard they looking to sign a few more P and maybe a HS P too. They are waiting for physicals to come back and had to wait to open up space on lower level teams(which they did this week)

U can sign UDFA for 20K for the next 8 months and there is no baseball for any of them so no real rush

If we were getting good players there would be a rush. Teams like Kansas City and Philadelphia have done work. This seems like another instance of the FO cheaping out.

I didn't like the actual five round results for that matter. I feel better about Antonio Velez, our first $20,000 man, than I do about the four pitchers taken after Fulton.
