Jesus Sanchez has been fantastic despite his late start in the spring due to injury.

he's one of my favorite relatively low key guys in the system. I think he might end up being the best pure hitter currently in our system. He is a top 100 guy but he doesnt get nearly the amount of pub as guys like Jazz and Bleday. He's right there with bleday in my opinion as a pure hitter. If he can develop a little more patience and draw just a few more walks thats a legit star potential. Who knows what the final combination of 3 of's we get to in a few years, but just given the amount of quality options and high quality talent theres a very good chance it turns out to be an elite trio.

this is way way way too early and small of a sample size to take much from it, but unlike the last two springs where he was hitting really well but still striking out a ton, brinson has just 1 K in 17 ab's so far this spring while still hitting for power.

I think I've said it before, but I have ZERO confidence in any numbers Brinson puts up in spring. The only way I believe in them is if that carries over to the regular season. The old "fool me once" thing.

Maybe don't make it at 4pm on a Thursday and more people would go (I know that's not a Marlins thing, at least I think).

It's looking like I won't be in town that week, so I wouldn't be able to go anyway.

I work a half day every Opening Day and use 4 hours of vacation time. I know not everyone gets as much vacation time as I do so I understand the dilemma.

For me it’s a no-brainer. I love the Marlins and I love Opening Day. It’s not like the date of Opening Day is a surprise. It’s know months in advance.

When you have next to no vacation time, leaving early isn't a viable option - as much as I love the team, I'm not using vacation time to go to a game lol.

The Clevelander is no more - they decided to part ways, and the pool will be filled in.

“We are appreciative of The Clevelander’s partnership at Marlins Park through the ballpark’s first eight years,” Marlins chief revenue officer Adam Jones said in a statement to the Miami Herald on Thursday. “We are excited about the future use and potential of the field-level space as a fan destination within Marlins Park for a wide variety of audiences.”

I actually don't have a problem with this. As cool as having a pool in the park is, the reality it's not used much. Nobody wants to go in a pool at a game.

I'd like to see the area opened to everyone during the game - you could still have the seats that require tickets, but let people walk down there and hang out and see the game from a different perspective in a standing area behind the seats. Open those stairs that connect from the promenade to it (the ones behind the autonation alley), and let people go down directly instead of the indirect route you have to take right now after games (down escalators and through hallways).

I wonder if they'll still have unique concession items there? Another "real" bar option would be nice too (there's already a bar in the Clevelander) - I know they have that one in the outfield, but more options are always good.

Call it the "[insert sponsor here] Field Level Zone" or something to that effect.


The "wide variety of audiences" to me means more kid-friendly, and not adult oriented like the Clevelander was.

I’m cool with the clevelander going. Interested to see how it gets replaced but the pool was a gimmick that mostly just got in the way as no one wants to swim at a baseball game and the drinks were so expensive I had to mortgage my house to get a vodka soda.

As for the Denbo article I completely agree with him. Especially on the waves of talent part. We’re gonna have a wave of prospects ready to debut in each of the next three years it seems. My big thing moving forward is that they need to continue to work these avenues of acquiring talent just as hard moving forward as the have the last few years. Just because you find a solid core doesn’t mean you get complacent in international free agency and the draft. Those additional talents can then replace certain pieces in the current core should certain guys get too expensive or they can become valuable trade chips at a deadline for a contending team. That is how you create a consistently contending team in a small market like this. Fans don’t realize it here yet but I’ve been saying it for going on the third year now: this rebuild strategy is perfect for this market and this team is finally being run the best way it has ever been run in the history of the franchise from a sustainability standpoint

I've never been in the Clevelander except after the game. I was always under the impression you needed a ticket to the area just to get it, so never tried during the game.

nope just gotta be 21+. The seats are the only thing that needed tickets i believe. It wasnt great. you couldnt see all that well unless you had a seat

I had Clevelander seats once. Very good food menu but a horrible view of the game (unless the ball went over the left fielders head). I think this change is needed.
