MiggyRo homers to tie up the game 3-3.

    • Conley didn’t waste much time giving up the lead.

        Conley is still bad btw.

        • Conley is such a dumpster fire

          • Giancarlo Stanton has a Grade 1 strain in his right calf, Aaron Boone says. He'll be down for a bit, and may not be built back up in time for Opening Day.

He just can't be healthy. I'm happy that we could unload his $300 million contract.

            • Lewin Diaz homers, this kid is really impressive. Kudos to our scouting department finding this guy who was really sort of under the radar until we traded for him.

              • Wowowowow Wallach HAMMERED that!

                • Alex Vesia goes 1-2-3 in the 9th, with 2 Ks. The Fish cannot be stopped in grapefruit play.

                  • Players of the Game: Wallach and Vesia, who brought his changeup today. (Can't wait until Neidert brings his change to his next start.)
Conley, ouch. After the first hitter or two, he was throwing 92 and that's it.
Cabrera was all over the place. He tossed a couple real heaters, but they were wild. He dropped down to the 93-94 range real quickly.
Pablo was stuck in last September. Hitting 96, throwing everything over the plate, but not missing any bats. I'm concerned.
Monte just can't get out of strikeout mode ... and the guys that were whiffing him weren't getting swinging strikes from any other hitters.
                    A win.

                    • In reference to trade acquisition of Lewin Diaz: “This is another guy,” Mattingly said. “It was great for us at the Trade Deadline last year. It hurt us giving up Sergio. But we end up getting back a guy that you really like.”

It hurt to give up a couple months of Sergio Romo? That's the manager of the Marlins talking!

That’s just a throw away comment. He can’t exactly come out and say we fleeced them and gave up a slightly above average reliever in an already lost year for what looks like a legit long term piece at a huge position of need

                            What's he supposed to say?

I mean. Romo was relatively solid in the closers role, certainly better from that perspective than what we got after he was traded, so yes, it hurt on the field. Not that hard to figure out.

My bad, I guess. I thought the only reason they signed Sergio was in the very hope that they could turn him over for a prospect.
