I think both his and Sherman's interviews/answers were better than in the past, and that's natural I think as you get more accustomed to the position/information, etc.

Ignore the Frisaro writing part, but there was a good Jeter interview video with Greg Amsinger and Mark Derosa on there.

Yes, team will be measurably better. Exchanging Castro, Prado, Granderson, Walker, and Holaday for Dickerson, Villar, Aguilar, Joyce and Cervelli should be an improvement. However, I think it's the young guys that folks are interested to see. After the first couple innings of yesterday's game, I was wondering when Chisholm and Harrison would enter and jazz things up.

Ah, I hadn't seen that one until this morning. I was referring to ones Mish posted on his twitter.

              • Not Marlins related but I lost a good job and put on about 70 lbs. I decided I was going to start going to the gym I have been a member of for 3 years but have only went to like 4 times. I found out it moved in November.

So I went last night to check out the new location and its huge and everyone in there looks like an 80s action movie henchman. Bulging muscles and crew cuts as far as the eye can see.

Fucking intimidating but I need to do something.

Sorry for the off topic rant.

Don’t be intimidated. Just my two cents but when I see someone at least in the gym no matter what they look like I give them credit more than anything. It takes a lot just to get there so you’d be surprised how much people are just willing to give you credit for the effort and are willing to help you out with anything.

Are there any catchers who could be in play when we pick in the first round? I think Alfaro is a decent stop gap but I’d like to start seeing a future catcher that we can groom behind him who could have more potential

Great tweet I just saw- brinson has 8 hr in spring training and 11 in his regular season career

Not really in the draft that I've seen. It's one of the reasons I've been so adamant about making the Wil Myers trade happen. Campusano is probably a pipe dream, but getting a guy like Luis Torrens to challenge Alfaro would be nice, and with all the options the Padres have at catcher it seems like it could get done.

What's the AB differential for Brinson? Gotta be like 500 more ABs in regular season play.

Thanks man. Luckily its 24 hrs so I am trying to get to where I can sneak over there at like 4 in the morning when all the John Cena lookalikes are sleeping comfortably in their beds.

                          • Wil Myers is another two years of 20 million AFTER this year. That’s way too much for my taste for a guy at a position we already have a decent amount of good prospects at who will be ready within the next year or so. I like the idea but I don’t think he and his contract are the best fit to do that right now. Realistically that will be like 20% of our payroll at least, I don’t think that is worth the prospects unless one of them is an elite level guy

I’m just watching on mlb.coms pitch by pitch thing but monte has struck out swinging two times in a row, each time swinging and missing on 3 straight pitches. 2 abs, 6 pitches, 6 swings and misses

                            • We've discussed this a million times, but obviously you don't take on the entire thing. Have them eat 25%, get Torrens and Morejon/Weathers, and Myers becomes your lefty-masher for the next 3 years. We're most likely not going to be breaking the bank on Free Agents in the next 3 years most of our main contributors over the next 3 years won't even be reaching arbitration. What else are we going to spend money on?

Great C draft this year. Banfield is the C of the Future and they like Fish and Barstad too

All of these guys should go in first 4 Rds(unless signing issues)

Likely draft 1 or 2 C who will stick around but 4 or 5 in draft for need in GCL to catch 1000 arms. Usually Catchers are IFA signings
