Also, I'm curious as to how the MLB would police a suspended GM. How would they make sure that he's not the one still making the decisions?
Well Crane fired them both so

      • Ivan Nova signed a MLB deal with the Tigers. $1.5 million and another $500K in incentives.

        • Austin Dean to SL. We'll see if one of our AAA sluggers can still make it for the Marlins (Brinson or Diaz)

"SL" Is St. Louis for those that don't know what that is. Because who abbreviates that SL? StL

            • Diowill Burgos is actually an interesting prospect. 11 HRs as an 18/19 year old in DSL and GCL last year.

Thank you so much! I assumed he was sent to Salt Lake.

                • That sounds like a great deal

Diowill Burgos is a 40+ FV and was set to be ranked 11th on the Cardinals prospect list which will be published tomorrow.

A 40+ future value means that FanGraphs ranks Diowill Burgos as a top-20 Marlins prospect (approx. the same as Osiris Johnson and Victor Mesa Jr.)

                    • Ya look at that kids power numbers, he looks like a legit prospect. Perfect move, clear some of the current 40 man and outfield clutter and get a great flier on a promising young prospect to do it

Cards system is hurting right now, but Burgos is darn near a Peyton Burdick by Fangraphs measurement. To play devil's advocate on the other hand, very few prospects will ever post the numbers that Dean did at AAA. Not much speed with Burgos either.

Fangraphs has already updated the marlins prospect list with Burgos, he's at #19, there's a nice little write-up on him.

I also like how our 1-11 prospects are almost exclusively AA and AAA guys and 12-20 is almost exclusively high-A and lower. Really starting to balance out the system.

#19 on FG and 11HR at 18 in Rookie Ball is impressive

Only issue is our Rookie Ball teams have more Corner OF's than they can play and that was before this kid. These guys need AB's to develop. Same thing with the Santos kid we got from Boston,he will likely be a 2B but we already have Espinal/Machado/Marinez/Montero and likely Salas in MIF. Its nice to get these guys in the system however for guys who wouldn't be here in 2021
