I think we will be between 70-75 wins depending on how soon they start bringing up the next crop of prospects like sixto, monte, Jazz, etc

No I don't think so. I think the best we can hope for is around 70 wins. More likely somewhere in the mid-60s.

I agree just because I think they will have a massive prospect turnover and August/September are going to be ugly, even if we see the potential.

I think they avoid 100 losses though.

Marlins didn't exactly turn Romo into Lewin Diaz. Lest anyone forget, Miami included RHP Chris Vallimont in that trade. He was a starting pitcher in the Midwest League All Star game. He also pitched well in the Florida State League. Vallimont is listed as the Twins #18 prospect by Prospects Live and #29 by MLB Pipeline. That's meaningful to me at least, given that Pipeline lists Humberto Mejia as the Marlin #29.

From the Fantrax HQ site, another 2020 prospect list: 50) Chisholm 53) Bleday 63) J Sanchez 66) Sixto Sanchez 112) Cabrera 113) Harrison 121) Misner 187) B Garrett 193) Burdick and 197) L Diaz. No others in the top 250. Different than many other lists ... only time will tell. It's a little harsh on Neidert and Rogers ... and even Guzman as far as I'm concerned.

It will be nothing short of a miracle if the Marlins win 75 games this year.

NL East, they’ll be sellers, September is going to be painful especially if there is an injury bug.

            I predict 64 wins.

            • I’ll say 66-96.

              • A small amount of perspective......

A $33 wager right now on the Pirates To Win The NLCS would win $4,455. The Pirates.

A $33 wager right now on the Marlins to do the same would win $14,850.

                • ALot of the Milb guys we were interested in are coming off the board. Still in on a few but the list is dwindling

                  Strop on ML deal
Juan Minaya/David Phelps/few other RP on Milb
OF and SP are also on list for Milb but not priority

                  • Its likely Conley who gets DFA if Strop signs. The thing on Wallach is they want a vet in AAA and then when either Cervelli gets hurt again or get traded they have Wallach up to catch the same young guys. I think Wallach passes thru easy as well but they don't even wanna take the chance

I could see Dugger DFA later in the year but right now he is likely the swing guy who gets optioned up and down. Holloway they would likely try in the pen if he sucks again in Jax before they DFA him

Sign Strop DFA Conley. Trade Conley for a Rookie ball something.
If Phelps/Minaya/Northcroft/Cook look good in ST u trade Urena for IFA and prospect and bring up 1 of them

No reason to DFA or trade Urena right now unless u get what u want for him. I know people like Conley but u have Jarlin,Quijada,Tarpley in MLB. Lee,Castano,Venditte in AAA and Vesia,Mills,Guenther in AA. TONS of depth

Strop and whoever would be candidates to be traded at Deadline. Steck/Stanek also especially if the market is as nuts as LY

So glad we’re giving an older guy a shot when we won’t even win 70 games.

Prolly Strop. But then when he has 20 saves in July and we trade him for a 40+ guy from the Cubs or Milwaukee people will say good trade

There were a lot more vets we brought in before 2019 that we weren't able to trade than ones we were. Actually Romo was the only one we dealt, and while that looks like a good trade for us right now, like Lee mentioned we had to give the Twins a pretty good prospect ourselves to make it happen.

If you look at recent history, and think of all the contributors that we've gotten basically nothing for, I don't see how you can be so confident that we'll get something for Pedro Strop. A 35-year old reliever coming off a season with a 5 ERA.

A good year from Conley has more trade value than a good year from Strop. Neither one is guaranteed a good year. Strop wasn’t good last year. These are all tangible moves at the end of the day. Looking forward to an impact move from the front office. I guess Villar is the closest thing.
