I assume this reorganization is a net positive, but I really question how we got here, on top of, this is a lot when the only new MLB players are Bethancourt and presumably Brujan, after losing Soler, Hampson, Sandy, and Robertson/Moore/Floro as large playing time contributors last year (that Burger/Bell don't impact as they eat Segura, Coop, Yuli time, etc.).

In Ken Rosenthal’s latest, he says the Marlins are still exploring the SS market and mentions two guys who have been discussed in here plenty in Tim Anderson and Amed Rosario, as well as Mondesi and Nick Ahmed.
I’d be all for Anderson if they think he’ll be a locker room fit. Low risk with potential for high reward. I’d be ok with Rosario as a stopgap with the hope for an up year, and I wouldn’t totally hate taking a flyer on Mondesi, even though I wouldn’t count on him. I’d rather go with what we have than sign Nick Ahmed, though, which probably means it’ll end up being him they sign.

It's probably the 13th bat (i.e. SS), because Brujan OOO, Edwards is "ready," and they are committed to Garcia (not saying that's the right idea, but that's what they said), and maybe a RHP reliever to beat out Soriano or Brazoban temporarily until Max/Bender are built back up.
Beyond SS options, I can see fringe AAAA guys not wanting to sign here as there really is low opportunity for playing time. Because the above doesn't include guys like Amaya, Dane, and Burdick they would likely try out offensively, and they have plenty of arms (kind of).
I'm not sure this one is a big deal, but not having a real SS on the roster is a huge deal.

ZIPS risers/fallers for 2024-2027 projections - https://blogs.fangraphs.com/zips-202...s-and-shakers/
TLDR
No Marlins major decliners
Burger, 7th biggest riser for all hiiters (close to a 2/WAR guy for years moving forward to them which is great)
Eury, 3rd biggest riser (close to a 4/WAR guy)
Garrett, 14th biggest riser (2+/WAR guy which is great)
Luzardo, 16th biggest riser (closer to a 2.5/WAR guy moving forward, which feels low but still improvements analytically)
Weathers(!), 21st biggest riser (Around a 1.3/WAR swingman which would be awesome)
You'd hope Luzardo/Eury do a little more, but I would take a 2+ WAR Burger and Garrett and anything over 1+ for Weathers in a heartbeat.

They should sign Anderson/Rosario for 1 year and Mondesi on a MILB deal at this point. It's a good situation for everybody. Performance would figure it all out and the best bats would play often.
Can't believe THIS is the offseason after first playoffs in a full season in 20 years.

The Kansas City Royals.
Sherman can go fuck himself.
Witt has massive opt outs also to mention. He is probably gone after 7-8 years and Royals get out of $110-140m of the guarantee. They basically caved to get Witt for at least 3 free agency seasons. It’s a very Witt beneficial deal from what I saw, but the Royals do have a window now with Witt secured at least through his 20s.
Just remember, Eury costs $60m for 8 years today similar to Hunter Greene

Maybe this is all Boras' fault as we wait on Bellinger (causing M. Taylor/Pham/Duvall to do nothing to see if they get a contender spot more readily), the industry expectation the Brewers move Adames (causing Rosario/Anderson to wait to see if the Dodgers call if they don't get him, etc.), and the other big ones (Snell, Montgomery, Chapman) which might have a cascade effect on other trades/moves, like Soler, Merrifield, and Lorenzen not signing yet and all of them make sense on contenders. A real quick and easy Rosario/Anderson, M. Taylor/Duvall, and Lorenzen/M. Fulmer/some right hander kind of rounds out the team quickly for what it is and maybe that gets them to July for some bigger move. Like last year.

lol, they arent waiting out any fucking market. they are being cheap and doing nothing because they have an owner who has no business owning a professional sports team, nor does he have any vision to lock up players he already has early to save money long term
