A thought on the stadium...
Not selling the roof pillars as advertising space to drink companies who can paint them like giant cans of their product is a missed opportunity.Amy Adams, AKA Cinnamon MuffLogan Morrison: "If baseball didn't exist, I would probably be ... like a curler. Or a hairstylist."

I’m landing in Las Vegas in about 36 hours. I’m going to make a $100 bet on Max Meyer to win the NL Rookie of the Year if Aria or Cosmopolitan offer it. He’s pitching too good to not get called up within the next 30-60 days.
Does anyone remember his service time situation?

I think this is a TOUGH bet also. Suzuki's BABIP is stupid, but he may trip and fall into a 3+ WAR season and that's a big problem for Meyer. He'd have to have a Rogers type year immediately. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/se...ts?position=OF.
Also trade for Laureano

Get the benefit now, or wait for potential money savings a few more weeks.

It’s a long shot for sure. But Suzuki is likely worse than even money right now and Meyer will be like 25/1 (or better) I would imagine.
Just a fun, speculative wager.

They still need a longterm CF who can play defense and hits lefties, and kick Sanchez to LF. It radically improves two defensive spots and offensively it improves DLC/Berti/Aguilar/Cooper PA as those would be the guys to lose playing time (Soler would eat in to DH time for the later two).
Ramon Laureano is perfect at this time point. Ketel and Reynolds signed extensions, so I don't think they get moved this year.

garcia and soler have started slow but picked it up in Atlanta so lets see if they are getting hot. But they apparently lucked out not getting rosario. Braves signed him to a decent two year deal I believe and he's now out 8-12 weeks for some vision issue.

He has ridiculous power.
Burdick isn't a longterm CF. That's the problem here. And he isn't a contending piece for 2022 absent a miracle.
They need a CF option, and one that hits leftiese. They need to figure out how to get Laureano, or maybe Austin Hays.

Maybe they have to eat some money (Piscotty) to juice that, or send over another 15-20 ranked guy like Morisette/Jerar/Fitterer andd/or DLC.

I'm also not sure why burdick cant be considered some sort of longterm CF if his bat is as good as it seems. He's played CF a lot in the minors with us, has been fairly decent, and he has above average speed to cover ground in CF. Not sure why you think our longterm CF has to be this specific model of defensive stalwart. If his bat is legit and he can be average at CF, that is more than enough. Is he a slightly better fit in a corner outfield spot? Sure. That doesn't mean he cant be a long term CF if his bat is as legit as it has played in the minors thus far in his career. And how do you square burdick not being a CF, yet you were willing to give up 2 of the best prospects in baseball for a guy like reynolds who is nothing special in CF himself?Last edited by fish16; 04-26-2022, 01:34 PM.
