Frisario has this weird tweet about Schwarber to the Blue Jays - "pay attention Marlins fans" - https://twitter.com/JoeFrisaro/statu...15069098905606
So basically, can Lourdes Guirrel play CF? Jays top prospect is also a 3B who will be ready midseason theoretically.
C - They have a billion
1B - Vlad
2B - Biggio
SS - Bichette
3B - _________ / Espinal (who was fantastic but still).
LF - Hernandez
CF - Springer
RF - Grichuk / Gurriel
DH - Schwarber
Marlins could do some major damage here, say Grichuk (salary dump, big time), Gurriel (3 years of control), let's say Kirk (DH. He rakes), and prospects, for like Brian Anderson (3B/RF for them), Burdick, DLC, and relievers?
They'd have:
Stallings, Fortes
Aguilar/Cooper
Jazz
Rojas, Berti
Wendle, _______ (TBD veteran 3B to help)
Sanchez
Gurriel, Grichuk
Avisail
DH - Kirk
One of Aguilar/Cooper is shed. Blue Jays open payroll to sign someone else.

Olsen’s numbers were better than Freeman’s for sure in 2021 but I was thinking……could it be argued that Freeman consistently faced better pitching than Olsen based on the divisions they were in? Just a thought. I’m probably making something out of nothing.
Did we sign Reynolds yet? *sigh*Last edited by Namaste; 03-14-2022, 09:52 PM.

I'm still holding out hope that the big move is coming, but every passing day I get more nervous that we're being set up for more of the same.

deal for Reynolds - Watson, Meyer, Fulton (try to keep Perez at all costs)
Sign Anthony Rizzo
Sign Kenley Jansen
Would probably take closer to $35 million than $20 but it still would be around a $90 million payroll which is bottom 3rd in the league.

Given that at least seven starters will be required to cover injuries etc., I don't think you subtract from Alcantara, Rogers, Lopez, Luzardo, Cabrera, Hernandez and Meyer. Eder, Fulton, Perez, Velez, and a surprise or two that may blossom in the minors this season may give the Marlins a chance to deal from the current staff at the deadline or next offseason.
