I think a lot would have to go right to contend next year.

Eovaldi and Turner would have to pitch well. Buerhle would have to repeat. Ricky would have to finally pitch to FIP. JJ needs to be JJ, not jj.

Lomo needs to figure it out. Buck needs to stop being terrible. Boni needs to be superBoni. Stanton needs stay healthy. Find production from 3rd & CF. Ruge needs to be Cody 2.0. And then pray for health because we have no depth.

The thinking around baseball still is his value is between Greinke and Wandy Rodriguez. So we are talking maybe 1 Top 5 Prospect in the organization and 2 lesser ones,while Beinfest sees him as better than Greinke since he has another year left and is worth Mike Olt plus 3 others


Nolasco on the other hand we would love to trade however no one is really interested in him. Hearing more interest in Zambrano

Boner is the name everyone seems to want and are willing to pay for however keep hearing he is staying no matter what

If Beinfest called Texas and said Garcia,Buckel,Grimm and another mid prospect-Texas would prolly say deal. This would give us Grimm as another young SP,Buckel as either a SP/power RP,Garcia who could play be our starting 2B with Boner to CF or 3B plus we get rid of 19 million bucks OR

Boston and ask for a package of prospects

Beinfest is looking to sell high and unfortunately it's way TOO high

What happened is Texas will NOT discuss Profar or Olt and Beinfest will NOT discuss a deal without Olt. In other words unless a team changes mind its over

Because his peripherals always looked good and the hope was that he would end up making that a reality and he never did.

I havent heard about us looking to aquire anything,just trade Lee,Zambrano,JJ,Nolasco,Dobbs for younger/cheaper guys

I know alot of u guys might not like this but Boner can play 2B/3B/CF so it's not like we need a specific guy. If we get Olt,Boner will play either 2B or CF. If we get Jackie Bradley,Boner can play either 2B or 3B. They love him and are confident he can play wherever they put him even at 3B

I have no problem with Boni at 2B. It's having him in 3B and CF where they take away potential power bat positions that I don't agree with.
