      90 points.

Plus, Lomo for the first 20 games of 2011, .988 OPS. Lomo during the rest of 2011: .730 OPS

He's been about this bad since last May.

      • But if we're doing that, then .787 OPS in April, .770 in June.
        --------------------
And then it's like .912 OPS in May last year, .904 in September.
        --------------------
The point is that he has been less productive this season than last. That is a true fact.

            • This was from an insider article by Olney, I think:

The Rangers had been willing to talk about Leonys Martin in a trade proposal for Josh Johnson, but they are said to have backed off after Johnson's erratic outing Sunday.

              • But Ramp told me GMs aren't that dumb.

                • That's so stupid. I will never be able to understand that line of thinking.

                    • Reyes has been pretty damn good for 60+ games now.

                      • I can imagine the scouting report:

"Around 93-94, many BB's, left pitches low and away, allowed one earned run, this guy fucking SUCKS- stay away".

                        • All Reyes has to do is go 70 for his next 134 and he'll match his BA from last season.

It's not completely irrelevant either. There are a number of valid reasons why you might balk at making a trade based on something you see in the player's most recent performance.

                            • Fans who use the advanced metrics undervalue intangibles almost as much as old school baseball guys overvalue them. It's one of the reasons I tend to stay away from questioning managers on every decision when it comes to bullpen and bench usage. They know their players better from a mental standpoint.

Stop having unrealistic expectations. Last year Reyes had a career year at the best financial timing. He's having a normal Reyes year. Stats are still a little lower then average but its not a disappointment. And OPS by month: .635 / .717 / .822 / .842. Are you going to continue to bitch about a guy who has put up better stats every month thus far?
