I'm worried about trading with Toronto.

They have some good pitching prospects, but it seems like the complete opposite of what the Marlins would want. It seems like the Marlins want to compete next year. Guys like Syndergaard and Nicolino are young and probably a couple years away from being big-league ready.

I think Anthopoulos has fucked up like one trade since taking over as GM. This is the same guy who managed to get rid of Vernon Wells contract. I don't know what or why it is, but he usually gets the upper-hand when trading.
He probably sees this as an opportunity to buy low on Hanley/JJ.

What are we stockpiling Catchers? He would be nice get but I think we are good with catchers now. If we make a Toronto deal they have so many nice prospects I doubt we would lose in a deal

If all the catchers pan out, the worst case scenario is we end up trading the one we don't want. Teams are always in need of catchers.

If we trade JJ, I want D'Arnaud, too. They're desperate for pitching right now.

You can't go wrong with having good young catching talent.

We can trade D'Anaud and if he's the most valuable piece we can get back, then you do that. Find a third team that needs a C and is willing to trade pitching for it (Better pitching than we would have gotten from Toronto) and viola.

Not to mention you guys are talking about not wanting a C who's put up a 900+ OPS the past two years with a career OPS north of 800 because you have a guy with a career OPS hover around 700
