In my opinion, it seems like that could get it done.

Early Thursday afternoon, the negotiations between the Florida Marlins and the San Diego Padres about closer Heath Bell are at a standstill, reports ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney.

The Marlins want Bell to fill the hole at the back end of their bullpen, but sources say the Padres have asked Florida for one player in particular -- perhaps Andrew Miller, or Sean West. The Marlins have declined the request, and it remains to be seen if the Marlins will relent, or if the Padres -- who have a lot of teams working to deal for Bell -- will feel compelled to lower their demands.

No clue but would have to think so. Alderson or anything young arm they got.

I know they wanted him and kept getting NO. Uggla is younger, cheaper and more power than Sanchez.

Let's drop the pursuit of Bell and just turn to Gonzalez.

Imagine if we never traded Adrian Gonzalez, we could pull in a nice haul for him now
