    100% correct

    2020 SS(BEFORE Draft)
    AAA-Yo Sanchez(If he signs)
    AA-Devers
    Hi A-Torres(Probably 2B)
    Lo A-Osiris
    Rookie-Marinez
    GCL-Salas/1 or 2 DSL guys/Cappe
    DSL-Lewis/Junior

    2020 SS(After Draft)
    AAA-Yo Sanchez
    AA-Devers
Hi A-Torres OR College SS at #35
    Lo A-Osiris/Nasim Nunez at #35
    Rookie-Marinez/Valdes(Rd 3)
    GCL-Salas/1 or 2 DSL Guys/Cappe
    DSL-Lewis/Junior

Not sure about Cappe status if defected or can go to DSL? They can move guys around to CF,2B or 3B but its a pretty packed at SS. Its cool to let guys play multiple spots eventually BUT SS need lots of reps to see if they can stick

22 yr old Cuban SS who is Hech lite. No bat but gold glove SS. Mesa Brothers BFF who has been a FA since Feb but hasnt signed with anyone yet

Rumor is Marlins have offer on him but nothing confirmed(His people have told teams that he already has a 2 million dollar offer). Sanchez and Jorge Tartabull hang with the Mesa Brothers and made few mentions about stuff on Twitter

Right...thanks. For some reason I thought he signed with Baltimore.

Can the Marlins even offer that much and still have money to sign the other 3 they are rumored to be signing?

Also, they went HS heavy last draft. They need players that can move up quickly...I think they have to go advanced college bats early...at least 2 or 3 in the first 5 rounds.
This. I’m sure abrams is a great prospect, but we have ss’s in the system right now in devers and Osiris Johnson and we have absolutely nothing in terms of power bats. I just view bleday and Vaughn as both the slightly better prospects and much more of a need. That and they are probably 2 years closer to the majors than abrams, which we need if you think our pitching should be really good sooner rather than later, which I do

I don't really care that we have Devers and Johnson. I think we should take a SS in one of our first 3 picks. That being said, your last point is the key, we need power and we need it by 2021 which should be go time for this organization.

Im fine with that, just not the first pick. Devers will be a top 100 guy by the end of the year and you just drafted Johnson in one of the first few rounds last year. It's not a position that is set for the future by any means, but it is absolutely not close to the type of need that a power hitting bat is.

I don't disagree with what you're saying here. I'd probably go Vaughn/Bleday. But it's such a boon to have a great SS, that I'm ok going Abrams if you think he's going to be the best player out of all of them. If all 3 of those guys pan out, it's a good problem to have. You can move them to another position, or trade them.

Fair point, and i just want to emphasize that I havent really dont much research on Abrams, I just think given where the organization is right now that they need a fast moving, power bat in the system. It's a much bigger need than SS right now. Ultimately i dont know shit about any of these guys and neither do most people, i'm just saying i think a fast moving power bat is desperately needed in this system much more so than a SS. im fine with a SS with the other picks, Vaughn or Bleday just seem like much better fits for multiple reasons for where this organization is at the current moment.

They start with 5.5 Million and can add up to 75% more. So they could get to like 8 million if they want

They need advanced bats BUT in MLB draft u draft BPA on your board unless guy asks for some crazy amount. Just say Bryce Harper was a SS and u had 8 other SS in system and Turner in ML u still would draft Harper. Guys move positions all the time

Only thing about taking the same position is eventually u have to decide who is the SS and who has to change.

Bleday,Vaughn,Abrams are ALL ranked about the same by our FO

If they are ranked about the same then it’s easy...take the guys who hit home runs.

                            • Another guy who we MIGHT pick. Mish said he visited too.

                              https://mlbdraftcountdown.wordpress....sanford-hs-nc/

Davidjohn Herz goes by DJ Herz 6'2 185 HS LHP with UNC Commit

                              Scouting grades: Fastball: 60 | Slider: 55 | Changeup: 45 | Control: 45 | Overall: 45

Herz succeeded Christian Jayne (now at East Carolina) as the quarterback and top baseball prospect at Sanford High (Fayetteville, N.C.) this spring. He has the most live arm in Tar Heel State's prep class, though there's debate as to his long-term role and whether he's signable away from a North Carolina commitment.

Herz already can touch 95 mph with his fastball and popped 93s and 94s more frequently as the Draft approached. His heater has jumped about 5 mph from a year ago and could reside in the mid-90s if he continues to develop physically. He generates a lot of ugly swings with the lateral break on his low-80s slider but has yet to exhibit much feel for a changeup.

While throwing across his body gives Herz some action on his pitches, it also costs him command. Some scouts look at the effort in his delivery and the length of his arm action and project him as a definite reliever. Others think he's athletic and strong enough to power through and make it as a starter.

So guys we are "connected" too now are

                              DJ Herz
                              Yordys Valdes
                              Cade Doughty

Doubtful we take any of them on Day 1 but could be guys to watch on Day 2/3. This is why they are trying to "save" some cash on #4 pick. If u save 400K u can take HS guys later instead of wasting picks

                              • Good and bad news for us

Notable pre-draft workouts this weekend: Nasim Nuñez - Marlins /Brooks Lee - Diamondbacks/Yordys Valdes - Indians

They are looking at Nunez at #35. DBacks have 33 and 34. Marlins like Valdes too which means they might have to get him at #45 if they really want him

Nasim Nunez is defensive SS who will stick. Issue is bat is very iffy and only 5'9 150. Someone was crying about Abrams being like Dee Gordon well this kid is even more like Dee except he will be at SS instead of 2B or CF. Slap hitter with speed
