  • Vaughn's price has come down "reportedly" but Bleday still fave

    Gonna likely be
    #4 Bleday OR Vaughn
#35 Greg Jones OR HS/College SS
    #46 ??
Rd 3 BPA who will sign
    Rd 4 Catcher

This draft is very very deep in C-wouldnt be a surprise to watch us do something like LY where we take 3 or 4 C in First 10 Rds. Like 15-20 in Top 200 Prospects

MLB.com is up to Top 200

Not sure we can go wrong with Bleday/Vaughn or Abrams. Would stay away from Greene because we took same exact player LY. Honestly as long as we stay away from HS SP and 4th OF types who bat lefty with little power in first few rounds ill be happy. Take college bats and up the middle guys(C/SS/CF)

    • please no greg jones. enough of these fucking slap hitting guys whose value is already lowered because they will never develop any significant power. you can find a speedy slap hitting middle infielder, go after legitimate impact bats.

Marlins very interested in Jones at pick 35. He's moving up.

They want a SS/MIF at #35 it seems(Jones,Shewmake,McConnell,Nunez,Lugo,Brooks Lee,Paris,Volpe). Plan seems to be draft 1 of them let them battle with Osiris and winner stays at SS while loser goes to 2B or CF

If u don't like Greg Jones(I LOVE HIM) well u might like this. Jim Callis says his FLOOR is Oakland at #29

        • I prefer Greg Jones at 35 than C.J. Adams at 4. That said, rumor is A’s will take Jones at 29.

Ya dee Gordon was one of my most overrated marlins in recent history. Slap hitting, low obp middle infielders with 0 power aren’t hard to find. Plus we paid dee off a steroid induced career year and he never has come anywhere close to matching that year before or since. he’s overrated as hell and we absolutely fleeced the mariners for him

So do they. Want college bat at #4 than #35 a SS/MIF type.ALOT better value then Abrams at #4 and who knows at #35 Probably 7 or 8 to choose from-gonna depend on who is there and who they like more

#46 is no clue? Mentioned Rece Hinds or college bat like Wendzel/Toglia/Schunk but have also heard they like 2 or 3 college arms(Jameson/Stinson) so could be anyone.

              • Id love bats with the first two picks. its a desperate need. they need to absolutely pound almost all bats early in the draft.

Should be bats with 4 of 5 first 6 picks. Do same as LY-Pitcher in 5th Rd and take 2 or 3 HS guys/injured arms after Rd 11

id be cool with that. Give me either Bleday or Vaughn in the first and some more bats and im good. Also get them signed quickly and have them get some experience this year.

If they take Bleday this might be a problem. Guys cant talk or sign till season is over and Vandy will be in CWS. Reason I mention this is because they likely can't sign other guys until they get Bleday deal done since they will be going over again this year

We got tons of guys in Ex ST so won't be an issue but might be hard to sign everyone early

that's fair enough then, i mean dont do what loria did constantly and wait until the last fucking minute and throw months of potential development in the trash for no reason other than being cheap. if he's still playing in the CWS thats a different story.

Well Jeff was cheap as hell. They will probably have agreements with lots of guys but the way its set up is u cant really sign them until u sign the expensive guy. This was Atlanta's issue LY-they had to appeal stuff to MLB to sign like 4 guys after the deadline because of the Carter Stewart thing

                          • New Keith Law mock:

                            4. Miami Marlins: JJ Bleday, OF, Vanderbilt

Bleday and Hunter Bishop seem to be the Marlins' top two targets, but they were linked earlier to Abrams as well. Captain Jeets even saw Vaughn and Rutschman in the past week.

Keith Law knows ZERO about Miami but Bleday seems to be the main guy and are focused on him. Bishop is same size/power/position as Bleday but seen as below slot pick(if they choose to go that route) instead of Baty. Miami wants Torkelson next year which is really why they were watching ASU

When I say below slot I mean if all of a sudden on Sunday night Bleday is like I want 7 million they might look at Bishop, They wanna save cash for later in the draft

                              • This is off the top of my head so its possible im missing someone obvious, but when the hell was the last time we took a college bat in the first round? Seems like we've been taking high school arms and bats for going on like 15 years now.
