When someone gets "into one" they are, as you put it, ripping the cover off the ball.

Nyjer Morgan got his suspension cut from 15 games to 8. His $15 K fine stands. Basically, they just dropped the 7 games for throwing at the Phillies fan. He'll start serving it tomorrow.
Personally, I don't think they should have cut his suspension in half. He was suspended for essentially 3 seperate events (throwing at the Phillies fan, running over the Cardinals catcher and starting the fight) but he only gets 2 more days on his suspension than Volstad? And it took MLB almost a week to decide what they wanted to do?Last edited by THE_REAL_MIBS; 09-16-2010, 09:06 PM.

That's 9-12 and I would lean toward the higher side since they all happened in a two week period and 2 of the incidents happened after he was already issued a suspension for the first.
