So apparently Joey Votto did not have one infield pop out as of the other day. That's a pretty nutty stat..... I think

Every time Josh Johnson gets into one he rips the cover off the ball.

When someone gets "into one" they are, as you put it, ripping the cover off the ball.
      No he doesn't.

are you suggesting that Bonifacio has never crushed a line drive to shallow left field?

Braves lose to Washington again. Not only will they probably not win the division, but they might not even make the playoffs.

Nyjer Morgan got his suspension cut from 15 games to 8. His $15 K fine stands. Basically, they just dropped the 7 games for throwing at the Phillies fan. He'll start serving it tomorrow.

Personally, I don't think they should have cut his suspension in half. He was suspended for essentially 3 seperate events (throwing at the Phillies fan, running over the Cardinals catcher and starting the fight) but he only gets 2 more days on his suspension than Volstad? And it took MLB almost a week to decide what they wanted to do?

Mibs, you should know better than to compare a pitcher's suspension to a position player's.

It still doesn't make sense when you compare it to Gaby's. Gaby got three for fighting. Morgan should have gotten 4-5 for starting the fight, another 3-4 for throwing at the Phillies fan and 2-3 for intentionally running over the St. Louis catcher. That's 9-12 and I would lean toward the higher side since they all happened in a two week period and 2 of the incidents happened after he was already issued a suspension for the first.

                    Better?

That's fine, I don't disagree with the point, but like I said, it was apples to oranges.

Except he didn't intentionally throw at the philly fan. The 7 game suspension for that was dropped, the 8 game suspension for the hayes, volstad, and anderson situations was upheld.

If you give him what amounts to a 13 game suspension and a $15,000 fine, you're guaranteed to get a grievance from the PA, MLB probably just doesn't want to deal with that.

Yankees down 3-1 to Baltimore top 9 with 2 outs.

                            A-Roid 4-3.

                            Bazinga'd them hard.
