  • Didn’t take Donnie long to move Brinson to the 8th spot in the lineup

    • Is Yamamoto even a mop up guy on this team in 2021?

      I’ll answer that. No.

I still have hope for him. The guy had some 80 odd innings above A-Ball before he was called up. He's here a year ahead of schedule, he was bound to take his lumps.

I was just commenting the same thing. At this point, the kid probably just sucks, but it's now felt for nearly 2 full years that they have been putting him in almost the worst possible situation time and time again. In his career he's had just such an absurd amount of ab's hitting 6th, 7th, or 8th. If we were trying to contend that's one thing, but it's abundantly clear that they have either completely fucked up trying to develop him or realize he just has absolutely nothing and they fucked up.

at the very least yamamoto has stuff to where a future in MLB is definitely in the cards whether it is in the backend of a rotation or as a multi inning relief guy. Unlike some of the guys we've seen thus far he at least looks like he belongs up here. And he's still super young.

random but i was just looking at the marlins stats and was wondering if wallach is still out from that same concussion or if i missed a different injury?

            • As someone who was a brinson defender, i would like to formally admit that he just is not good. he's gotten his chance, go into next year with the viewpoint that anything you might possibly get from him is a bonus.

Does it help if some is deferred so it's like $16 million in 20 AND 21?

No, that doesn't help. I just read what I typed.

The Marlins have hope everywhere in the farm these days (besides 3B, though maybe Osiris if he moves there and Anderson seems like he's going to be on the team for awhile), so they don't need to draft to cure an imbalance with bats versus pitchers (which was obviously 2019 - Bleday, Misner, Nunez, Jazz, Sanchez, Diaz, and Salas).

BPA. End of story.I'm sure a lot will change by next summer also so I don't think you need to think about the draft only having 3 top end guys. Something will change.
Y would u take BPA if u want a P? U could get a JT Ginn(#7 ranked) at #3 and probably save 1-2 million for later in the draft

If Tork or Austin Martin is there at #3 I agree take BPA which is 1 of them but why would u take a HS OF or SP unless they are in top level of the 3 guys?

Totally agree ALOT will change but I would love for them to do a TB/SD/Houston strategy next year which is save early and go crazy later. The minors are full which means u can take chances and don't need to sign 30+ guys

The wildcard for US is Blaze Jordan. Reports are he is gonna play some 3B next year if Marlins like what they see I could see us grabbing him on a below slot deal. We looked at Brett Baty this year so. Jordan is young HS,1B/3B with tons of power!!!

On brightside looks like Chen won't be on the team the whole 2020 season if at all

A lot is going to change. If the draft is hypothetically 3 amazing players, and 4-10 are all the same, and you have pick 4 or 5, of course you call all of those dudes and sign whoever takes the lowest amount and redistribute later to Banfield/Fitterers. Ties probably go to pitchers considering how bat heavy the recent draft/trades have been, but I still think you go BPA as just acquire talent and deal with redundancy problems later if that even happens. The system has depth. Based on how well the minor league pitching looks this year, I think we are well past the need categories. They deserve a lot of credit.

Now sign Rendon for 7 and extend Anderson for 5 years with an option.

                        • The Dodgers aren’t having any issues hitting HR’s in our cavernous ballpark

                          • Went to the game last night and we were down by 3 runs before I could even sit down. I also don’t go to a ton of games, but I don’t think I’ve been to a game they’ve won in like 4 years

Hm. Well stop going to games and we'll win more!

                              • Watching the Dodgers is kinda deflating, you look at their team, and I'm like, say every single prospect we have works out by 2021, are we still even in this Dodger teams league? Hopefully they won't be as good by 2021, but still it's like, is it even possible for us to build a team this good?
