Sources indicate the Miami Marlins are calling up Lewis Brinson from New Orleans.

Is it Brinson and Diaz or just Brinson?
Both. I see other coverage on it.

    Finally

Good. give brinson the rest of the year and then april and then just cut ties if there is no improvement. Im not optimistic because of his failure to improve the plate discipline in AAA but we shall see. Diaz has been phenomenal all year and is very deserving. I didnt think they would keep him down the entire year but glad its official because that would have been straight up wrong not to give him a call.

Of course this announced after I go to the game today. Yep, I was there, and we sucked.

ya the rest of this year is gonna be brutal. Future looks good but we are gonna go into full on tank mode these next two months.

Also, the way pablo lopez has looked in his 2 rehab starts makes me hope they shut him down for the rest of the year. Dont want to see him turn into henderson alvarez 2.0.

Well this might be just as interesting of a development as Diaz and Brinson being called up. Jesus Sanchez is playing CF tonight for New Orleans.

i understand the service time implications of keeping Diaz down but they need to just bring him up already. Would be an absolutely horrible look and send a horrendous message to the young guys in the system by not bringing him up this year. Him and brinson need to be up and playing every day.
Dugger is coming up because he needs to be put on the 40 Man in Nov anyways. Sixto/Cabrera are on innings and Neidert is just getting back.

He isn't a long term SP but could be SP,LR,RP in ML

Brinson,Diaz,Dugger and Stanek should be added today. Steck and Brice by this weekend

They can't make trades anymore but watch for Walker to be DFA. NYY are desperate for IF and DFA Walker could save few bucks and open up another spot. Castro is possible too

Gonna be a few confusing moves to people but remember guys like Castro,Prado,Walker,Grandy are FA and they wont be here next year. If we DFA and they get claimed we dont have to pay them and can take looks at others

Zack Godley was DFA. I wish Miami would take a shot at some of these DFA guys-we are #4 on the claim list and no trades mean they are ours if we want them

Isan Diaz being thrown into the 2 spot of the lineup right away for game 1 today. Let’s let the young kids play and see what we have the rest of the year

Crappy news but Steck has elbow soreness again(Already had TJS 1 time) and looks like Stanek is the Closer the rest of this year and next year until atleast trade deadline(unless Urena is here for 2020)

                      - - - - - - - - - -

                      2020 Pen

                      Elieser
                      Jarlin
                      Quijada
                      Tayron
                      Brice
FA? Conley? Minor Leaguer? Rule 5?
                      Stanek
                      Urena

                      AAA
                      Dugger
                      Guzman
                      Holloway(AA)
                      Dylan Lee
                      Brigham
                      Tyler Stevens
                      Aiello

Probably need to sign 1 or 2 FA but overall not bad

Solid move not trading steck and Conley at the deadline last year

I would definitely close with Brigham.

A career day for Dugger ... literally. I don't suspect he will ever put on a Miami uniform again.

Stanek’s been a lot better as an opener in his career so far. He has good enough stuff to succeed in high-leverage imo, but just something worth noting.

Lol they really hung Dugger out to dry here. Hey kid, we know you cant get anyone out at AAA, but how bout you give it a shot against big leaguers.

Financially, makes more sense to let Stanek, Steckenrider (if healthy), or Conley/Chen (lol) get the saves as they are the closest to arbitration, in arbitration, or contract is set. They have they least ability to accrue crazy saves numbers to punitively impact arbitration versus a guy with tons of time. We don't want Brigham, or anyone else, having 90 saves in arbitration year 1 is what I'm saying.

Those dudes should be getting saves until they give someone a Leclerc style buyout and then that person gets the saves. Personally, I'd give them to Stanek and trade him next July and build around undoubtedly 1-3 of the starters being moved to the pen, Guzman, Holloway, Brigham, Garcia, Quijada, and maybe some others like Brice or Tayron figure it out.

It is a bizarre split and Tampa fans have noted that, but I can't conceive a guy can't throw in the 8th/9th innings.
