He was okay TBH. His counts were suuuper deep. but overall good

      • Gallen was pretty good. He looked very nervous which is understandable, however, he looked a lot more nervous than Yama in his first start.

How did Wainwright end up scoring the only Cardinal run so far?

        • This fucking umpire must have max bet the Cardinals tonight.

I was thinking the same thing, looked like a castmember of Revenge of the Nerds.

Man, every once in a while Riddle hits a fucking bomb. Too bad there is no consistency to his game.

A lot of foul balls sky rocketed his pitch count. I was impressed by his curve, but I thought his usage of the curve was a little suspect seemed like he was constantly trying to get guys to chase away and if he'd used it more to get them to chase down I think he would've gotten more swings and misses. Still he got like 6 strikeouts and really shouldn't have given up a run if not for a horrible misplay by Ramirez on a double.

Man, I don't know if he was safe or out, but the Cardinals 3rd Base coach sending him was so dumb.

              LMAO. Walk-Off Pick-Off.

              • If the Marlins had this starting pitching back in 2017 they would've made the playoffs. Absolutely frustrating that they can never get everything they need together at once. If they have hitting then they don't have pitching. If they have pitching then they don't have hitting. When both are clicking the bullpen starts imploding or injuries rack up.

Team could never put together the right team over the past fifteen years.

                • Cooper injured again and we need another C

We might end up with 50 guys on 40 man by July 3

We actually have tons of RP in minors just NONE on the 40 man. Guzman/Holloway are SP but should be RP in majors(thought Yamamoto would be too but who knows now?)

                  RH-RJ Alvarez/Bugg/Noesi/Ferrell/Keller/Kinley/Graves/Stevens

                  LH-Moran/Kinley/Lee/Castano

                  • Now that everyone has seen them all, who will be the most successful starter for the Marlins in 2019 from among Gallen, Yamamoto and Hernandez? I'll go with Elieser.

                      Based on what exactly?

I like all 3 as MLB arms and potential long term starting pitchers, but as far as ranking their potential, it's Gallen, Yamamoto, Hernandez.

Lol. With how accurate Frisario is, reporting that means Pablo's actually going in to have his arm amputated tomorrow.

Not a single HR allowed in 48+ innings for Hernandez. I like his overall stuff better than the others.

I agree it's frustrating I have to say, though this latest Draft has me more positive on the FO, well maybe ever. They realized bats were a huge deficiency and went out and got fast moving power bats, while also getting a couple of stud high schoolers. The next step is Free Agency, gotta use the money you've saved these last couple of years and use it wisely. I really think by 2021 our staff will be scary and we'll be able to use the excess starters to fortify the bullpen. It's just will this draft produce bats that quickly? How fast will Bleday, Misner, Burdick and Edwards be able to move through the system, and will you be able to fill 2-3 maybe even 4 spots in the lineup through Free Agency and trades with a couple of high-impact bats. Not gonna be an easy task, but doable IMO.

Hernandez is a very different pitcher than he was last year, so why would I feel the same about him? Gallen has improved vastly as well.
