Urena’s K/9 in September was low, his BB/9 high. His xFIP was 4.97. His LOB% was 100% (seriously). He didn’t magically figure it out in September 2018, he just ran into some incredible luck for 30 innings. You really don’t understand sample size, do you?

Doubtful they DFA him until next year. The role u saw him in last night is his future here-pitching when they don't wanna waste other arms

I mean the game was only 4-0 at that point. That's not a lost game. I don't ever want to see him again. Adding to that, some fans told me he never stops to give autographs and is a complete asshole with them.

What I meant was in blowouts they would rather have him in there then waste actual RP. Marlins don't care about this year however next year they likely will

I'm okay with him pitching in blowouts, but all three times he came in it was a "close game". If he's our long reliever that's the only time I want to see him. The Marlins should care a little bit about this year if they want to get the minimum support from people

            • Also, he only gave us 2 innings last night. He's gotta be at least competent to be able to eat innings for us.

I was there. Certain, now fired, members of the baseball department said he would be nothing but a bullpen arm.
One of many mistakes on my watch. Seems too late for sorries, so I will just say sorry.

Reason Marlins kept offering Castillo around the league was FO(Benedict/Del Piano)straight from this idiot mouth. Only BP arm but look at that 2016 season as a SP

this team truly is a dumpster fire.....not much offense at all. How does Jeter sell this to the fans.....they only drew 800k last year. I'm afraid we won't draw that much this year.
                  I am so sorry.

                  • So the cost to get Tyler Kolek right and evaluate our farm system arms was Luis Castillo and Trevor Williams

and as far as I know the same person involved in that trade (Mike Hill) is still in place...he may not have final say, but that he has ANY say to me is concerning. I hope we never find out the Yelich trade was some of his handiwork.....

Mike Hill had nothing to do with that. It was the dumbass who we not only got from the pirates but had to trade a prospect in Trevor Williams for. The guys name is escaping me right now. Samson said that guy was responsible for that trade this morning. He said the guy was convinced Castillo was a bullpen arm which is why we kept trying to trade him for shitty players.

                        • There's no issue with the guy who is supposedly responsible for trades having no say in a trade. You can say it's beyond his control, but just the mere fact that that was happening speaks ill of Mike Hill.

i think it speaks more ill of the front office and ownership structure and behavior during that time. Mike Hill had no real power during this time, especially during the time of the guy we hired from pittsburgh

If Mike Hill was any good at his job, why would he stick around in that situation? It makes no sense for you to stick around in a situation where you are not being allowed to do the job you were hired to do, and moves are being made that reflect poorly on you, that you have nothing to do with.

im guessing its a lot easier said than done to quit a high paying job where your family is home. plus with no guarantee he would find a new job, and i would assume industry insiders with experience negotiating against us know what his power is within the front office and therefore he might have been comfortable in his position even if he didnt get the typical power most people with his position would get.
