    Welcome back. However...

Mejia is 22 years old, 47 career minor league HR and has been young at every stop. He's hit everywhere.
Telis is 27 years old, 50 career minor league HR, thousand plus more PA then Mejia.

There is a big difference here. I agree his value goes down if he has to move to 1B/LF/3B, but he still has a plus hit tool and should be a positive regular somewhere. Marlins would be lucky to get him in a deal.

    • Anyone think Oakland is a JT spot? They actually can win the wild card, and years of control is always Billy's thing. They could really use Urena/Straily also as silly as that sounds. Their SP depth chart is insane, and not in the good way. Those would be big upgrades and stability.

They have a really good minor league catcher (Murphy), 5 of their top 8 prospects are OF (not including Khris Davis, Piscotty, and unfortunately for Marlins, Canha is good..... whoops), and they have plenty of interesting pitching as other pieces. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/top-...land-athletics.

Just saying. That could be a real good spot and mutually beneficial.

I thought they were a spot in April. Think they are a spot for JT/DD/pitching but havent heard them mentioned for anyone

        Lots of things Miami would like-OF Lazarito/Beck,SS/OF Mateo,SP Luzardo/Holmes and C Murphy

Fangraphs mentioned yesterday that TOP 2019 IFA SS Robert Puason is likely going to Oakland for 5 Million

It's really a perfect match because LuCroy sucks, they need a middle rotation starter, and they have the perfect package of a young catcher, OF excess to send 1 of them, and low level pitching years away to move for JT/Urena or Straily.

They really need that boost to catch Seattle. It's honestly Seattle or Oakland for the 2nd wild card and the rest of the AL is already determined.

Also, Dietrich should be starting every day at 3B until we trade him. Prado is awful.

Agree on Prado - a double play producing machine on an all-time nonsensical contract. Dietrich's numbers off lefties don't work - he's a platooner all the way IMO.

                  • Good start by Chen. Hopefully he stays healthy the rest of the way and next season so maybe they can shop him in the 2019 trade deadline.

He definitely has an interesting shot at it, he's going to be close to 1600 before he is 30 assuming he keeps starting which he should.

Kind of feel he has an Edgar Renteria career path though and when 33 comes there is as big drop.

                        • Richards cant be a starter if he only uses 2 pitches. they had a graph on the broadcast showing that he only used his 3rd pitch (curveball) 4% of the time last start. If its not a good pitch they need to turn him into a reliever and let his stuff play up out of the bullpen rather than the current plan.

                          • Regression has already kicked in for Barraclough this month. Good thing we’re building around him though.

This is kind of a weird take to me. Yes, Barraclough has run into some trouble this month, but if his numbers as they stand today count as "regression," hell, I'll take it. I don't think anybody expected him to keep up the pace he was at.

And the "building around him" thing...I'm not really sure what that's a reference to. The fact that we're asking a lot for him in a trade? I really don't have a problem with that. I'd rather that than give him away at the deadline just to get rid of him.

                              • Ya I think thats an overreaction for now on Barraclough. There is no rush to trade him 2 weeks before the deadline as you wouldnt get a teams best offer yet in all likelihood. His track record suggests he's not headed for a jorge julio style blow up in the 2 weeks prior to the deadline.

They do need to trade him though.
