I’ve checked and multiple sources confirm Catcher JT Realmuto has not been offered a contract extension by the Miami Marlins. Very little discussion on that front.

League sources I have spoken with over the past week believe Realmuto will “eventually” be traded by the Marlins. Team has been engaged but nothing advanced, and if MIA doesn’t get a massive return at deadline they seem to have no issue keeping him.

Add some stuff I have heard but guys will "confirm" next month

They have NO issue keeping him until Winter Meetings because his value stays high until then. Teams they have talked to are NYM/Wash/Toronto/Minn/Houston/Arizona/Milwaukee. They want a High End Prospect but have mentioned to a few teams they would also take a 4/5 player deal with centerpiece being a Good Bat and Good Arm that they like. Good Arms mentioned have been Peterson(NYM)/Corbin Martin(Hou)/Luis Ortiz(Milw)/Gonsalves(Minn)

FO has tried talking extension 2 or 3 times with JT agent but has NO interest in talking about it
Mish's first Tweet is literally the opposite of what you've been saying and I was going to look up your posts to prove my point, but you reiterated what you've been saying in the same post below. So I thank you for that. Mish says he has not been offered a contract and there's been little discussion. You say he's been offered a contract several times and JT and his agent have no interest. That's a big freaking difference.

They have been TRYING to talk and TRYING to offer him a contract but his agent has no desire to listen. Can't "offer" it if u refuse to answer a call and talk. Can U?

Nothing in Mish's Tweet says that. "Very little discussion on that front." I take to mean from either side.

Also how do you try to offer someone a contract? E-mail them the contract offer, you don't need their permission.

Ya JT's side has no interest so the FO hasn't done much lately. They tried in Dec and earlier this year

Normally works like this. U call the agent and ask if they would like to meet and talk contract. However when the agent refuses to talk about it-U tried!!!

I wish WE would have "Very little discussion" but your side seems to wanna respond to every post I make

It is like the draft tommorrow night. U don't just take the guy and then talk about a contract after.

The way it works is u call the guy's agent OR Rep and see what they want to sign. U find the number and "agree" to a deal BEFORE the pick. What u think the team takes a guy then EMAILS them a contract and says this is the number?

This is literally how the draft works!! (Unless you have the first pick of course) We have the 13th pick, we don't know who's going to be picked there. You think we've "agreed" to a number with 10-11 different players? Or your saying a number is agreed to in the what 5 minutes in between picks? I know that's not the case because some players still take months to sign to contracts, and a lot of cases don't sign at all.

YES u call 5 or so guys who u like and expect to be around at #13. U call Casas/Edwards/Kelenic/Connor Scott/Carter Stewart and 1 or 2 other guys the morning of the draft and ask their reps "What will u sign for if we take u at #13?"

If Casas and Edwards say 3.5 million then u put them on your board. If Kelenic and Carter Stewart say they want 4.5 million then u take the off your board. Some guys throw a crazy number out there because they don't wanna go to that team

Why do u think teams at the top of the draft take guys ranked #10 in Top 3? Because they have agreed to deals with other guys later for above slot. This will happen with KC or TB and Jordyn Adams in this draft-they will agreed to a deal with a guy for below slot with first pick and use that cash on Adams(who they agreed to a deal already) on 2nd or 3rd Pick. This happen when Houston took Carlos Correa then used the money they saved on Daz Cameron(who they agreed to a deal BEFORE the draft)

U think a team is gonna take Adams then ask him what it will take? It is called "Floating a Player"

LY draft why do u think we passed on Alex Faedo when he fell? We had no talks or anything with his people so they went with Rogers who they liked and knew what he wanted to sign.

That's all well and good, but in the end it doesn't really mean shit, and you still get guys who hold out for months before a contract is signed, or a high school player goes to college. It doesn't happen as much as it used to granted because you have that slot value and bonus pools, but it still happens.

Ya its called dumb people in the FO who are lazy and refuse to do homework. The teams who draft well and know what they are doing are VERY busy right now calling and finding this info out

Nice conversation with u-lets not do it anymore cause it doesn't really mean shit

Or Agents who say one thing and do another, players who have a change of heart. Ultimately the point is, what happens before the draft is not official contract discussions. Just like the Marlins haven't entered contract discussions with J.T. Things change when you put that contract in front of person. For the better or the worse.

True but 90% of the time its the FO fault. U never see teams like Cubs,Boston,Houston,LA,KC getting screwed over. Why? Because they do homework and know everything. These teams draft HS guys in Rd 22 and sign them. If u notice the teams that usually mess up are always the same its Baltimore,Pittsburgh,TB and Miami(Old FO). Draft guys without talking to agents/reps,don't get physicals, take guys early even tho no one else had them up that high

                      • Jarlin sent to AAA and Drew Rucinski added.

So now we have Cloyd,Rucinski,Graves,Del Pozo,Shuck,Rivera who can be DFA anytime

                          • Anyone still arguing that the centerfielder who shall be nameless is NOT a bust ? If you can't hit your weight, and your fielding is that bad....geeesh

                            • Has Brinson had some fielding gaffes lately? That would indicate he batting troubles are now leaking over into the field. Send him down already.

Team is tough to watch, that's for sure, pretty much this entire bullpen should be in AAA. Lineup is pathetic.
