I noticed Galloway's improvement last season and his success in the spring - and pointed it out. He certainly hasn't panned out for New Orleans thus far. He hasn't been all that much better than prospects Mags Sierra and Braxton Lee. But in fairness to me, he would have done far better than Lewis Brinson thus far (admittedly a very low bar).

Mets just lost Lagares for the year. Man I wish they had better prospects because we could probably steal them

Its like guys jumping on Tomas Telis bandwagon. He is a AAAA player at best. In fairness to u?? Galloway AB's would make Brinson look like an All Star.Last edited by tjfla; 05-18-2018, 04:18 PM.

Galloway hasn't panned out in 8 years. He can't hit and looked good LY against lesser guys.

This is still my favorite Marlins pick over past few years

Guy could hit and was an On Base Machine. Too bad he got hurt 4 times a year

Even a conservative guesstimate would put Galloway at an OPS .100 points less than his AAA OPS at the majors which puts him right where Brinson is, and Brinson is a superior outfielder. So yeah, not buying far better.Last edited by Lee Stone; 05-18-2018, 04:57 PM.

It's been a disastrous start for Brinson. No doubt, but he also has a track record of success at the minor league level that suggests he's a better player than what we've seen from him so far. Does that success at the minor league level guarantee his success at the majors? No, but way too early to write him off.

Could Miami have asked for Tyler O'Neill instead? He was just called up by the Cards from AAA Memphis. 13 HR, 31 RBI, and a .319 average.

Is he good?

But you can easily aggregate major scouting sources and realize Alcantara is a top 100 prospect in all of them and Ben Meyer not in any of them
Doesn't make any sense to me

Dee Gordon's strikeout frequency is far less than half that of Brinson/Harrison.
Lou, it's not a generalization. I don't think you could find a single exception. A generalization is that a 21-year-old will be a better player/pitcher at 23 than he is now. For that one, there are endless exceptions.
So now you say it's not a generalization and I can't find a single exception.
JUST 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jonathan Schoop - 3.8 WAR - 5.2% BB / 21% K
Tim Beckahm - 3.4 WAR - 6.3% BB / 29% K
Odubel Herrera - 2.9 WAR - 5.5% BB / 22.4% K
Corey Dickerson - 2.6 WAR - 5.6% BB / 24.2% K
Javier Baez - 2.3 WAR - 5.9% BB / 28.3% K
Adam Duvall - 1.7 WAR - 6% BB / 26.3% K
Trey Mancini - 1.7 WAR - 5.6% BB / 23.7% K
Adam Jones - 1.7 WAR - 4.3% BB / 17.8% K
If you want to throw out the 3 dudes under 2 WAR - go for it, but I think that qualifies as a decent player.
Looking forward to hearing how Jonathan Schoop fucking sucks.

In hindsight, for comedic effect I should have only posted the 4 Orioles and followed up with more. My bad.

Also, I only looked at top 75 guys qualified batters strikeout rate. Analysis ignored the other 500 guys who played last year*
