Filling in on the #Marlins today. Tim Wallach will be managing tonight’s game for Miami. Don Mattingly is not with the team. He’s with relatives following a death in the family @HeraldSports @clarkspencer @AndreMHsports

Im cool with barraclough going regardless. His velocity has been down for like 3 consecutive years and has control issues anyways, plus we have a ton of arms in the systems that will become relievers, so selling high on a reliever in the first year of a rebuild makes all the sense in the world to me.

I think id deal Straily if he gets back to normal form, Bour, Dietrich, Barraclough, JT if he wont re-sign, then get whatever you can for Ziegler/Tazawa and then unless a team is willing to take on prado just keep him and let him serve a bench role as a good veteran presence which will help the younger guys. Keep rojas for another year as he's serviceable, and then turn the rotation/rest of the bullpen over to these young guys for a trial run in august/september then for next year.

At least Castillo came down to earth this year and if we get something for Straily it's not going to be so bad.

castillo will still be really good and our weird insistence on trading him is still weird, but ya straily hasnt been terrible, and hopefully he'll get back to his form with a few more starts. we will get a decent package

The Marlins today returned from rehab and reinstated RHP Elieser Hernandez from the 10-day DL, and optioned RHP Merandy Gonzalez to Double-A Jacksonville.

He's still a pitcher with years of team control left who for some reason we were incredibly eager to give up. Straily was probably solid value, but we were super lucky the padres tried to fuck us with Colin rea. that would have been a complete disaster
