Hey, its an opinion right ? Everyone has one. Stanton, Judge, Harper, they looked
great from the start. Not to say he won't hit later this year, but those guys all had a "je ne sais quoi" from the get-go...this guy is more like day old McDonalds french fries - maybe if you heat them up they might taste a little better.

I see more Kyle Skipworth than the 2nd coming of a 5 Tool Monster. But I hope he proves me wrong.

Caliber of pitching? Here's Brinson going 3-4 off of Charlie Morton and the Astros the other day.

I get that it can be difficult to stay positive about this team right now, but let's give Brinson some time before proclaiming him a bust.

In 2016, Judge was .179/.263/.345 in 95 MLB at bats.

I didn't say he is a bust....yet.....but I just don't see anything to get excited about yet either. And it seems they want him to be the centerpiece so far of their "revuild". If they strike out with him, they better do some over-the-top drafting or we're going for rebuild of the rebuild in 4 years.

Stanton .635 OPS in his first 74 ABs.

          We can go on.

We'll see, but you have more faith in him than I do....to me even his projections on MLB.com don't sound "star" player. Gotta bring more than that......

Actually, maybe he's more Hermida than Skipworth....

shocking that you would be negative some more and criticize a guy who raked in spring training and then went hitless in his first game because "you just dont see it"

I saw him in Milwaukee games last Sept too, just looks clueless at the plate. But og course you guys thought Profar was going to be a star too. He had to be part of any trade we made with the Rangers.....

I'll keep watching Yelich, and if Brinson can't match Yelich then it was a disaster of a trade for the Marlins. Yelich was on a team-friendly contract. This guy has to do that at the least, or it was another trade we lost, and will really make Jeter (since he's the front man) look bad

so you watched him so much in september despite the fact that he didnt play in milwaukee after august 3? And Brinson also now has the same contract length as yelich and is cheaper an we also got 2 other top 100 prospects, so no, your fucking stupid point that he needs to match yelich's production for the trade not to be a disaster is about as stupid and not well thought out as just about every other thing you say for the sake of being negative.

I thought Brinson looked confident and poised. He hit good pitches - just got on top of them.

                    • I wonder who Mattingly will try using for 2 innings today? Did the same thing in the past-throw the guys 1 inning and get them out of the game

Yeah, that was the thing that made me most angry yesterday. Just let Guerrero have his 1 good inning and put someone else in.

agreed. plus it fucks things up for the guys who have to come in in the middle of the next inning when guys like Guerrero cant get through the 2nd inning and then have guys like Steckenrider have to come in in the middle of the inning with guys on base. especially in the first game of the year that didnt really make much sense.

Did it the past 2 years. Guys who are strictly 1 inning guys he tries to extend and guys who can go multiple innings he sticks to 1 batter or 1 inning. Watch he will do it with Jarlin tonight-bring him in for 2 lefties(even tho u can go longer) then bring in Bearclaw for no reason
