Keys: Urena wild; Wallach helpless; and Guerrero throwing five straight fastballs to Schwarber - have to show the slider! A shame because Lester had nothin'.

Not a big deal cause it doesnt really matter, but i wish mattingly didnt go to the 2nd inning with Guerrero. He did look great in the 1 inning so cant fault him too much, but he was clearly out of steam towards the end of his performance. Still would be awesome to see him become a valuable arm out of the pen cause he does throw hard as hell and its probably hard to hit given how damn big he is.

        - Worst national anthem ever.
        - Way too many Cubs fans.
        - Marlins bullpen is back in leftfield.
        - In-game production is less in your face and telling you to stand up.
        - Re: Sponsors. Miccosukee is still a sponsor but they are no longer a title sponsor.
        - A good portion of Marlins fans there were not into it.
        - It's going to be a long season.

Long, yes, but only 162 games.

            1. You don't have to preface everything you say this year with "it doesn't really matter". We get it.
            2. I agree on Guerrero, I think he was already at 17-18 pitches after the 1st inning. Seemed like a lot to ask from the kid making his Major League debut.

wasnt his ML debut but agreed. especially with the juggernaut of a lineup.

Btw, does anyone have any idea why we were chosen to be 1 of the 2 teams to be the first to play on opening day? Was this made up before last year ended or what? Not that many people are huddled around their tv on a thursday at 12:30, but it would seem to me to be the worst team mlb could choose to be part of the first game.

You have the Cubs, as the Marlins basically don't exists anyways so what does it matter, it was and will be forever all about the Cubs in MLB's eyes.

BTW, not impressed by Brinson. Looked more like the guy that hit .106 in September last year than a "5 tool superstar" as he's being hyped to be (of course fish16 will deny he's considered anything more than a warm body in the organization, and say gotta give him time - always the argument of a rainbows and lollipop guy)

Here we come 45-117 season, and that may be optimistic when the inevitable injuries start happening and our depth is still shit.

First real test for attendance will be April 13th. Pirates in town. I say REAL attendance will be less than 15.000 for that series.

fish16 better not come on here and suggest we should give Brinson more than 1 game before we decide whether he sucks.

Had more than that.....all of last Sept and in Spring Training.....its not just his 5 outs yesterday, I just don't see anything about him that stands out.....his vibe is just a big zero. Stanton you just got a feeling he was special....this guy "yawn".

                        I hope I'm wrong....

I think he's more Kyle Skipworth than a 5 tool guy

As long as pitchers hang off speed pitches to Stanton he'll rake. Fastballs at the belt he can't touch and sliders outside he will wave at.

You mean Spring Training where he had a .951 OPS. Where he had 10 XBHs in 58 ABs. That Spring Training?

yep that Spring Training....he did what any ballplayer could against that caliber of pitching. It just wasn't outstanding to me. So far all the stats when he faces MLB pitching, in real games, are a big dud. Like I said I hope he proves me wrong.

What are you talking about dude? If any ballplayer could do what he did this spring why don't they? He was trying to make the ballclub and played exceptional. I'll take more stock in that and his excellent minor league stats the last couple of years than 47 ABs where he was getting intermittent playing time.
