Ya, give it till the deadline and criticize after. It does us no good to come out and say we’re shopping everyone, and teams likely already know we’re open to dealing everyone. It’s a valid criticism if we only trade Ziegler, but until the deadline just wait for 5 days and see what happens

At the same time Hill does mention that they want to convince JT to sign long term. Could holding on to some controllable guys that they could potentially move help their cause of showing him how things will be different going forward? Likely that’s not the case but could be a show of good faith...

Jason Stark just tweeted that the Marlins were one of 7 teams scouting the Brewers AA team last night with Milwaukee looking for a 2B. So I don’t buy them saying they are only motivated to move Ziegler.

They spent overslot in 2018 draft right? Not by a lot, but objectively over by some amount? Combine that with actually spending the IFA money, giving Anderson a nice "thank you" bump in salary and not renew at the minimum like Loria always did, etc. I like to think the players notice those things.

Mish says Cubs and Indians shown most interest in Ziegler
Chi-Uelmen,Clifton or Hatch/low level prospect
Cle-Hentges,Oviedo,or Elijah Morgan/low level prospect

Milwaukee seems more into Minnesota/Cincy guys however

By Sunday we should start hearing more about us-soon as all these "rentals" start going off the board. NYY talked to us about Straily,Conley but wanted to use Drury as bait while we wanted prospectsLast edited by tjfla; 07-27-2018, 09:33 AM.

J. Garcia, Quijada, Peters/O'Grady (is he coming back?)
I'm really not embarrassed by that. I mean it's going to be below average for sure without those 3, but there is a lot of potential there at the same time. Especially if they keep Conley and/or maybe get another arm or two as part of the moves that are play now.
I'm honestly hopeful the primary 7 relievers next year are Steckenrider, Conley, Wittgren, Guerrero, Garcia, Quijada, and Gallen. The 8th is a huge Merandy/Meyer/Rucinski/Brigham/O'Grady/etc. toss up and let them fight it out and call them up/down all year for injuries.

No Clue why Graves is still around. Looks terrible and have better guys in minors not on 40 man
LHR Next year-Garcia,Quijada,Jeff Kinley,Lee,Squier,Del Pozo,O'Grady
Wouldn't be surprised to see us take P in Rule 5 or look to NYY for arms who have to be protected tooLast edited by tjfla; 07-27-2018, 12:17 PM.

Quijada seems next up and should be exciting. I would really love it if he, Conley, and Garcia became a strong lefty crew for years.
I suspect Brigham is up shortly also, especially if it is a mass RP exodus at the deadline. He's earned a shot.
Lee just got to AA, maybe next summer but it's definitely encouraging.
