speaking of injuries, i think berti has been nursing some sort of lower body injury for months now. he doesnt look as fast as he looked even in spring training, and he has 26 fewer steals this year in the same number of at bats. has looked like he's been battling just to stay off the IL for a while now.

we have to have the dumbest fucking third base coach ive ever seen.

our 3b coach is giving bo porter a run for his money on most incompetent decision maker in marlins third base coach history.

rockies down 1, load the bases with no outs, and strike out for outs 2 and 3. if we can stay within 1 game of the cubs after tomorrow id consider it a win and just hope we can get some help from the braves and brewers.

there have been some real luzardo stinkers at big times this year, but this team is well below .500 without him and he looks great today. him and garrett are the MVP's of the rotation this year. Just great from start to finish all year and going to need them big time this last week. huge pieces going forward. luzardo among a big group of guys who are extension candidates. Him, arraez, scott, maybe garrett, eury, and if they really think cabrera will break out, it would be super early, but the potential is there and could be a real smart buy low opportunity. i think he's a future all star once he figures it out.

And i think bell will opt out with the understanding that we sign him to a 2 year deal for slightly less AAV but more money overall. he deserves it too.

i complain about the umps constantly but the rare positive comment about bill miller behind the plate. the mic'd up caught him saying "that's it jazz, stay in the game." instead of just tossing him. He made a bad call but at least he somewhat owns it and gives jazz more than enough complaining before tossing him. Should never happen regardless because the technology is there, but angel hernandez tosses him.

Jazz honestly throwing a bitch fit. Get the fuck over it and move on. It was a bad call but making a scene is not a good look.

hope this works out, but skip continues to use puk so often as a guy he's bringing in with guys on base. for a guy who has had struggles, not exactly a great formula for success for the guy. we have to see matt moore at some point today id assume. Puk, Moore, Nardi, and then Scott. Dont mess with robertson today.

this entire pitching staff is just completely falling apart for the last 2 months of the year. The bullpen is so completely taxed. And it's not going to get better. I love this team, but even if we squeak in, which is looking unlikely with the eury and sandy injury, we are going to get fucking housed by this brewers team in the playoffs. we hadnt seen them and im not watching a ton of brewers baseball so i said earlier in the second half that they really are not that impressive, but this is a really good team. not on the dodgers and braves level, but just a really good fucking team. Unreal starting pitching, pretty good lineup, and a solid bullpen. And they will be in a position to rest their top 3 pitchers against us. So we might be throwing a fucking bullpen game in a playoff game. Next year cant get here quick enough. Really, with the likely sandy surgery, 2025 cant get here soon enough.

This season can be boiled down to a truly great job by Kim to improve the lineup by getting Arraez and then Bell and Burger, but somewhat of a failure on her part with the pitching staff and just awful luck due to injuries, plus likely ownership contraints in getting a legitimate SS and C. Sandy's injury is just an absolute killer, but Cueto being awful instead of what he was last year is a huge turning point, and then meyer being unable to come back late, sixto being a ghost, and then no additions to the rotation and the only addition to the pen at the deadline being robertson is killing us. You cannot win with Hoeing, Soriano, bullpen days, and then a constant rotation for the last two months of innings eating guys like Smeltzer, Lindgren, Weathers, etc. They needed to do it, but this year was a complete failure of pitching depth and injuries. they need to invest in a legitimate proven closer and 2 bullpen arms in the offseason, plus C and SS. Really hard to do, especially with sandy likely being out next year at this point. Sad, and we should be decent next year, but it's looking yet again like we are looking a year ahead to 2025 to be a legitimate contender.

someone should move this ump 1 foot to his left and his strikezone will be accurate. Consistently calling balls strikes on the inside part of the plate for lefties and outside of the plate to righties.

matt moore looks good. it is unbelievable that a guardians team that was i believe 6 games out of first place and like 5 games under .500 claiming moore and lopez from us at the beginning of the month. Moore is a good pitcher, and lopez has gone on to pitch 9 scoreless innings for the guardians bullpen. that could have been a huge boost to the team and a beyond enormous relief for a tired bullpen. just so marlins.
