Joey Wendle at 6 million is currently the 5th highest paid player on the team. He is going to play.

These are solid selections for them

McCambley is 40 man eligible so it is a prove it move for him. I think Nasim will be protected regardless.

McCambley likely has a bullpen spot that is his to lose in ST. The pen is LHP heavy and I doubt Robertson is back.

That’s the entire problem and it’s why Sherman is a minor league owner. Wendle, stallings, and Cueto are due that money regardless of if they play or not. To actively hurt the team night in and night out because you have to pay them is absurd. All 3 of them are free agents to be at the end of the year. It’s not like they are like Garcia and you have to think about a potential bounce back at some point because they are signed for a few years. We know they stink, the front office knows they stink, skip knows they stink, and the players themselves know they stink. To continue to play them or hell, even keep them on the team still, is fucking absurd. It’s a sunk cost, just move on. You have better options. They are going to miss the playoffs by a game, and they will have no one to blame but themselves and Sherman’s cheapness and inability to accept a sunk cost

The Marlins sent me a survey this morning on my experience at the ballpark yesterday.

While I had a lot of good things to say, I gave them a mouthful for not signing one of the 4 premium SS’s that were available in the off season.

Interesting that Ryan Weathers would have been available last night. I guess that they have blackballed him from returning no matter how well he pitches at AAA. (He's been outstanding and MILW wouldn't have liked to see a lefty.) Weathers would have been my gamble without giving it a second thought. He makes his final start for Jacksonville today.

didnt even see that eury went on the il today. we're going to have no pitchers left by next week. eury obviously should be done for the year now as well. I think they were close to shutting him down anyways. i wonder if the injury is what eury was referencing when he talked about how long the season was and how he was feeling a little fatigued after his last start. Guess we role with Luzardo, Garrett, Cabrera, Weathers, and then bullpen day moving forward? Would have been such a huge boost if meyer could have come back this year.
