chargois is opening tonight. interesting that they arent going with matt moore who has a history as a SP, but whatever. Im guessing it's 1 inning and then hopefully hoeing can get us to the 5th or 6th. tough to win a game like that going up against their ace but it's baseball.

They still have effectively 5 aces to play in those 9 games so I'd take the under percentage wise.

Yeah I don’t get the Marlins and Cubs Fangraphs %’s at all.

Marlins have to face the Brewers top 3 starters and the Cubs are playing the ROCKIES at Wrigley.

But I want to say something about the Marlins….

Yes, the Brewers studs dismantled us a few weeks ago, however, I feel like more than any other team in MLB, with the Marlins it doesn’t really matter that much who the opposing starter is.

We face some kid who has been “ok” in AAA: we score 1 run in 7 innings

We face a teams real good #2 starter: we put up 6 runs in the first 3 innings

And the Marlins are extremely resilient late in games.

We’ll see I guess.

mcintosh, nasim nunez, berry, and mccambley are all going to the AFL.

These are solid selections for them

McCambley is 40 man eligible so it is a prove it move for him. I think Nasim will be protected regardless.

i dont think they take into consideration pitching matchups, just overall opponent. While we are tied with the cubs right now, we also have the tie break, so you can think of it as a 1 game lead kind of. I think that's why we have higher odds. Cubs also end the year with the braves and Brewers whereas we get 2 well under .500 teams in the mets and pirates. While they may get lucky and face 2 teams that have nothing to play for, the percentages dont factor that in. not sure mathematically how they could.

We play equal to or better than the cubs, we are in. They have to play 1 game better than us from here on out, and they have 2 opponents that are theoretically really good playoff teams, albeit with nothing to play for.
