That is a much better lineup with way more power, and segura is gone and Cooper is mercifully gone. I hate that we didn’t get a ss and one more reliever or a catcher

Cooper has better numbers than Bell though. Even though Bell’s metrics look better. I guess they expect better from Bell the rest of the way.

Did Cleveland take on all of Segura’s contract for next year? I hope so, otherwise we kind of gave up Khalil Watson for nothing. I know Watson has struggled and been a headcase too, but I’m guessing Segura’s contract is off the books at least.

A SS would have rounded this out but oh well. Getting out of Segura is great. I’d bet on Bell big time over him.

The overall haul is encouraging. They got better this year, and got some control as well. I don’t understand the Bell deal, though. Unless Watson is just a complete turd in character, I don’t get selling low on him in what should have been a pretty clean Bell for Segura change of scenery swap. This feels like a money saving move. I’d bet Cleveland takes all of the momey, but that shouldn’t be enough to cut bait on Watson this early.

The Marlins now are going to have one of the worst systems in baseball. I’m not mad about them trading prospects in general. They’ve been prospect hoarding for too long. But the realit is that the system already wasn’t great, and they sold two of their top prospects.

I'm guessing they see Weathers as replacing Eder. He's struggled this year, but he is over a year younger than Eder.
