Not remotely true and especially rich coming from your knowledge and evaluation of marlins players over the course of the last few years. She wasn’t a fucking accountant, she was an assistant gm for years. Pretty much Michael hills role when beinfest was here
You realize there are assistant GMs for multiple roles, right?
The Yankees did and continue to have multiple and her role never had anything to do with personnel moves, player development, or anything of that nature. It was always making sure the money on arbitration and contracts added up. She was an accountant. She had the same role with the Dodgers. She then went to MLB and did office work for another old friend in Joe Torre. She then over more than a decade interviewed for multiple open GM positions and never even warranted a second interview.
And when you listen to her unimpressively talk about baseball it becomes clear why.
She made friends with Jeter when she was with that organization and the franchise decided to do a publicity stunt.

She was literally white Sox assistant gm of baseball operations before she met any of those people but go off. I wonder what about her might make you think she’s just doing accounting. Also, not sure what “making sure the money added up” even means.
Mish says tonight that as of now, if we are looking for names they might be looking at for the bullpen, look to the white Sox, tigers, royals, and a’s. Quite simply, almost every team thinks they still have a chance so very little action on the trade market
I’m over coopers shit. I’m fine keeping him on the team, but I think we get a lot better offensively and defensively moving Arraez to 1b, segura to 2b, and getting candelario. That’s an impactful move in my opinion and wouldn’t cost a ton. There doesn’t seem to be a ton much more out there. Id go for a Tim Anderson as well to try and just get this position more talented and see if a change of scenery can help him. With his contract for next year he can’t cost much at all either. Reynaldo Lopez for the bullpen and him would help a lot
Mish has been saying this for over a year now but he says sixto is done as a major league pitcher. In the marlins organization and just as a major leaguer in general. Says victor victor has a better chance of playing again here

Mish has been wrong about a lot of things the last 2-3 years.
It’s entirely possible that Sixto’s bullpen a few days ago went horrible. But as long as Sixto is occupying a spot on the Marlins 40 man roster, it’s tough to say he’ll never pitch in a big league game.
If and when he gets launched off of the 40 man, that will be a very sad day for Sixto (he hasn’t made enough money to live comfortably over the next 50-60 years) and Marlins fans.
It will mean that the Yelich, Stanton and Realmuto trades were a complete dumpster fire.

the stanton trade was never really meant to be a big haul but ya, i get your point. I think sixto will be gone from the 40 man this offseason. Im not sure why he isnt on the 60 day il but i guess if they really get into a 40 man roster crunch at the deadline they can always move him there for the extra spot.
I do think there is a certain level of not wanting to admit the mistake, but there is also no way to cover it up if the guy will never be healthy again. Mish told a story where Sixto said in spring that he was throwing low 90s and a member of the media asked him to send the video and he just never did. Idk what is wrong with the guys shoulder but 3 full years of being out now, he's just flatly done. This year was his last chance. Im not sure what happened because he finally looked to have taken his rehab serious but the guy just continues to have shoulder problems.
mish was also asked about max meyer coming back this year and he said he would doubt it but that max is a different animal and wouldnt put anything passed him. I know we all want reinforcements, but id do everything possible to hang on to max meyer. he was really good, and i think there is a great floor of a perfect righty back end bullpen arm with a high ceiling in the rotation so id dangle eder and other guys as the major pieces in a big deal. Also says that fulton is off the table essentially because of the surgery and how could anyone trade for him right now.
Names he also mentioned that have been discussed- Eder obviously, Monteverde, Fitterer, and one guy i hadnt heard before discussed- Karson Milbrandt. Not much on jacob miller. And he says the DSL guys have a ton of scouts there looking at them because of the talent on that team all of a sudden. Im fine with any of those guys going. Maybe the DSL guys end up being good in 5 years, but that's a long ways away and if you can get talent immediately, you have to do it.
Here's my deadline hope- Go get Carlson and Montgomery from the Cardinals. That would take Eder +. Go get Yan Gomes from the Cubs. That would take very little and be a massive improvement. Go get Candelario from the Nats. that would be a 10-15 level prospect given he will be a free agent. Then go get 2 righty bullpen arms. Dont necessarily need to be back end guys. Maybe 1 mid reliever and 1 backend guy. For example 2 of Gallegos, Hicks, and Stratton from the cards.
Seems like a lot, and it will cost a good deal of prospects, but not top guys outside of eder. Can roll out the following the rest of the year:
C- Gomes/Fortes or Stallings
1b- Arraez
2b- Segura
SS- Wendle/Berti unfortunately
3b- Candelario
LF- DLC
CF- Carlson
RF- Sanchez
DH- Soler
Bench- Cooper, Backup C, Berti, Edwards, Myers until Jazz gets back
SP- Sandy, Luzardo, Montgomery, Eury, Cabrera, Garrett
RP- Puk, Gallegos, Stratton, Nardi, Scott, Okert, Chargois/Brazoban, and then keep cueto as a multi inning guy if this velocity increase is legit.
It is a lot of rentals, but getting rentals also allows them to give up less prospect capital. Just go for it. Fuck it. Regardless, we will still have the core moving forward of Sandy, Luzardo, Eury, Cabrera, Arraez, Jazz, and then Sanchez and Carlson. That's a healthy level of controlled talent, specifically in the rotation, that would make me comfortable with just saying fuck it and going for it.
we got very very lucky that all the otehr wild card teams hit skids out of the all star break as well. Dbacks and Giants are on 4 and 5 game losing streaks, the phillies had a 4 game losing streak, and the reds had a 6 game losing streak before this 5 game winning streak. they should be out of it by losing 8 straight, but they arent. They need to realize how lucky they are for that to happen and to just go for it. Do not wait the week. Go do what it takes to start improving the team incrementally.
