    • You have to walk arenado. This is a bad choice

      • What a stupid fucking decision. Why on earth would you pitch to him?

          • With Contreras on deck. What an idiotic decision

            • Even Skip’s magic is done. Why pitch to Arenado? Lol

              • At the point where we don’t have a single reliable pitcher out of the bullpen

                • Also where the fuck was Jon berti going on that play before?

                  • Took 5 games for us to no longer be in a playoff spot. Unreal.

                    • I feel like the last handful of times I’ve watched AJ Puk pitch, he’s given up an absolute BOMB.

                      • I'm not sure they can be buyers at this point. They just have too many needs, and not enough chips to fill those needs. If you can somehow get a longterm bat, fine. If not, I'm not sure it's prudent to sell assets only to come up short.

                          Sellers?

They’re 9 games over .500 and a half game out of a Wild Card spot. Are you being serious?

                          • I think he meant buyers.

                            • I can’t get over the stupidity of pitching to arenado in that situation last night. And the reasoning was so dumb. Because it doesn’t allow puk the chance to make a mistake? He made a mistake the first fucking pitch to arenado and it couldn’t have been more obvious that was going to happen. He always kills us

They were probably owed four hits from the top section, but clearly got lucky with the bottom two. So practically, they were likely only unlucky by two hits. The Dane and Segura unfortunate lineouts both came with 2 guys on base to note, so if one of them landed, this is probably over in the 9th. An unlucky game, but baseball always regresses to the mean and they have been lucky to date so this is what it is.

But look at Segura there, as it does seem like he is course correcting pretty quickly. And Dane with two more screamers that should have been hits. It's a small sample size, but

                                Actual - .400/.415/.525
                                exPected - .369/.384/.459

He's hitting the ball as hard as Soler (and other guys like Kelenic, Gorman, McMahon, Casas, Nimmo, and B. Reynolds for perspective) if his rate keeps up. SSS for sure and we'll see what happens 2nd/3rd time through the league, but he's not all smoke and mirrors at the moment. Would be absolutely tremendous if he works out. They've needed some bat luck with a random guy for a decade.
