this whole panic because we got swept by a tremendous baltimore team and lost another to the cardinals last night is way premature. They obviously need to make moves, specifically the bullpen because it has completely fallen apart in recent weeks to the point where i dont feel confident in anyone out there, but to act like the sky is falling based on 4 games is kind of nuts. We're 10 games over 13 days before the deadline, they are fine, but they need to address the bullpen immediately. Like 2-3 arms added kind of immediately.

Segura is fine btw. He's finally getting better luck and over the last 30 days he is hitting .311 with a .764 OPS. His peripherals have been the same all year as they have been throughout his career. He was having terrible luck with probably a lot if it being attributed to also playing a new position. Look at his numbers year in and year out, he has been consistently productive since 2016. I view him coming back and being himself again an addition to the lineup in and of itself. Every year since 2016 he has been in the high 200's or low 300's batting average and a mid .700 ops. He didnt just forget how to hit a baseball, he's a good player, and his numbers will be right back where they are every year by the end of the year.
They desperately need an impact C and impact SS. Wendle is a super utility guy and our C's are so fucking bad it is hard to watch. Those are the lineup spots i would look to address along with 1 more SP and 2-3 more relievers. Obviously they arent going to get all of that in the next 2 weeks, so we will see how they choose to handle it.
They really need pitching bad right now though. Cabrera coming back will help. As will maybe actually keeping one of the best pitchers in baseball in your rotation when they show 0 fucking signs of fatigue. Nardi will help coming back as well as he wasnt supposed to be a huge amount of missed time. They really need high leverage impact righties out of the bullpen though

From Twitter:
John Mozeliak spoke extensively to media today and confirmed the Cardinals are committing to selling this deadline and the focus will indeed be “pitching, pitching and pitching.”

It still feels like this is a match for Miami. SS and C are bigger needs than OF, but it's harder to find quality hitters at those positions.
