Yet ANOTHER loss where the Marlins out hit the winning team. I see a pattern forming here.

Obviousky there were major coaching mistakes made today but please shut up about Smeltzer striking out the side. He was literally brought up and then sent down JUST for that match up.

So since that marathon game on Wednesday, out of the arms in the pen today, Puk had pitched 1.1 innings and Jorge Lopez had pitched 1.1 innings. No other arm had pitched. And yet Weathers threw almost 100 pitches, did anybody grill Skip on this at all postgame?

I didn’t watch any of the game because I was at a college graduation party but from reading all of your comments it sounds like this was easily Skip’s (or the FO’s) biggest goat fuck of the season.
It’s like they know they’re in a WC hunt but no, actually they don’t. And how are we only .5 game out of a WC? It’s like everyone but SF (and to some extent PHI) is throwing up all over their cleats.

I'm at a loss on this one. Weathers is a great reclamation project longterm but you desperately need to win games and he's throwing 95 pitches.

The only explanation I can come up with is either 1. There's some kind of flu bug ravaging the bullpen 2. The FO dictated that they wanted to see an extended outing from Weathers to see what he has, and rest the pen. I just don't believe that with us up 5-3 in the 5th Skip said yeah I have complete confidence in this guy I most likely just met and am completely unfamiliar with, who has very poor numbers in AAA and the Majors to go the rest of the way and I'm going to leave him in the rest of the game, I just can't believe that was the case.

X Edwards needs to hit leadoff for the rest of the season. Actually, he should have been there for the last month.

As pointed out previously, he gave up 18 earned runs over his last 16 innings. Daniel Castano and Hoeing, who pitched on Friday for JAX, would have been decent options.

Just saw Skip's comments from last night and basically his explanation is, you don't use your top guys when you're trailing. Said if the game was tied we would've gone to guys like Tanner Scott. The score was 7-6 Texas going to the Bottom of the 7th. Apparently that's not a situation where you use your best out of the pen and instead use a guy who should be in AAA making his first appearance for the club. Apparently if we're down at all with the bullpen in from here on out, we're packing it in fellas.
