          I don't disagree.

Still Coop is the slowest human on earth.

At the very least call up Dane Myers. Dude went 4-5 today, is hitting .481 at AAA in 59 PAs. 1.303 OPS.

              • Also, why do we call up the Xavier Edwards' and Jacob Amaya's of our system and then not play them? Seems like that's been the MO as long as I can remember for the Marlins. Trust the AAAA fodder that's been around forever, over up and coming rookies.

                • Isan Diaz resurfaced back in the big leagues for the giants this weekend for the first time since we got rid of him and promptly went 0-8 with 4 k’s

Dude is destined to forever murder AAA and be useless in the big leagues.

                      • we're up to 59% on fangraphs playoff odds. Kim needs to make a move soon. I'd guess they let jazz come back and see whether he can produce like we're used to for a few weeks, but its clear this team needs at least 1 more bat, 2 if you include backup C. Sanchez and DLC have fallen off a cliff, and maybe arraez can keep it up but likely he comes back down to earth at least a little. Go get 3 players, a backup C, some sort of impact bat (whether it's 1b, 3b, or SS), and a righty set up guy. The overall cost wont be crazy and they need it to really keep this up.

Gotta hope for 4-2 this week, but if you get 3-3 you take it and run to next week given that the braves always kick our ass

                        • they are going to have a really tough decision with eury. Im of the opinion that you keep pitching him until he shows signs of slowing down, but i get why they would have a hard innings limit. idk how you take him out of the rotation though. Maybe you skip a turn every few starts moving forward. But Rogers is not out longer than expected because the "shoulder" injury he suffered was actually a partial lat tear which is not a minor injury, and cueto just looks terrible. His belly hangs over his belt just like mine which is never a good sign for an athlete.

                          • good crowds over the weekend. hopefully at some point we will need to actually open up the upper deck. ive never actually been in the upper deck at marlins park other than the right field upper deck which is not connected to the other part i dont believe.

it's going to be super tough considering the competition, but after making the playoffs, the next goal needs to be getting that first wild card spot and getting home field in the wild card round. loan depot needs home playoff games.

                            • Xavier edwards is so clearly ready for mlb its ridiculous he is not up here yet. He has 2 strikeouts in all of june. 2!!!! in 80 plate appearances. He had 1 in all of May in AAA (only 27 pa's because he got called up). And he ended April with just 1 k in his last 22 pa's. So going back to the end of April, he has 5 k's in his last 129 pa's. That is absurd. There is 0 reason he is still down there with how bad the end of our bench is.

I would like to see him steal some more bases though given how efficient he is and has been his whole career. He's 11/12 this year

I don't get it. I understand they have money tied up with Garcia, Cooper, and Yuli, but these guys can't make up a contending team's bench effectively (with Stallings, and Segura then starting). Amaya and Edwards should probably be the injury replacements for now. Edwards will get his shot I'm not too worried about him as I don't think he is a difference maker for this year.

Maybe they are big big big game hunting and trying to do a "Yelich" move for someone like Luis Robert, as in a vacuum, something like Eder, Meyer, Cappe (or Watson), Mesa Jr. Marlins competitive pick (or Berry? Mack?), and some 18 year old arm throw in for Robert and Grandal (salary dump for them as he stinks, but he is better than Stallings) works. Sane franchises don't do those things, but maybe they feel the White Sox may flinch and really really blow it up for a very strong package. This is more guys than Yelich because the Marlins undersold for Yelich, Brinson was a better prospect, and the White Sox aren't sisters of the poor so they have no reason to do this unless blown away, so a lot more juice needs to go into this:

We can dream. But frankly, at minimum Kim needs to move for a catcher now even if the larger bat trade is more complicated which I do appreciate. I don't get the catcher aspect of things unless there is some proprietary metric as to why Stallings is OK - kind of similar how the Astros swear by Maldonado even though everything says he is terrible, etc. Someone has to be available across MLB. I was thinking, maybe the Yankees would move IKF to clear out space for Peraza and just tell him he's catcher again. Think outside the box if we hate everyone else (Delay, E. Diaz, etc.). IKF plays at a .650 OPS and not embarrassing defense for sure.
