  • It would be cool if the Giants don’t win 27 games in a row

I always underestimate the Giants, but still, let them beat up the Padres, get as much distance between us and them as possible.

Yes, the West will beat themselves up and Summer Coors is no picnic for the worst teams. Fingers crossed the Mets keep imploding so the Marlins can sneak through.

The Marlins can only control themselves though, and they need 2, maybe 3 bats, and definitely 3 if Jazz or anyone else gets hurt. So we should just say 3.

Seems to be a product of the new scheduling. Either you have divisions where 4 of the 5 or all 5 teams are good, or you have divisions where all the teams are bad. So the divisions are all fairly close, which I guess is a win for MLB. Tough to make a trade, though.
I agree, but E. Diaz and Grichuk/Laureano/Robles should not cost a lot and would be some real upgrades. Let Amaya and Edwards play and can replace one of them in a month if it doesn't work out, etc. Could also go HAM and get Greinke/similar, trust Hoeing a little bit (he has earned that leash right?), and trade Luzardo for Westburg/Peraza which does work for a contending move trade for everyone. Do all of that. Why not?

Lots of options here IMO and Kim needs to take a step away from being too overly calculated and make moves to win. Do any of us think she'd trade Gonzalez for Urbina is what I am saying? Because that needs to happen last week.

absolutely, but given our lack of a margin for error with the bats we currently have, we need to get hampson the fuck off this team, especially in CF. if we are down 1 instead of 2 like we should have been if he could hit the fucking cut off man, the bottom of the 8th and 9th look a lot different.

we're not going to collapse absent 2 more pitching injuries because the SP and most of the bullpen is too good. They need to look at it not as not falling back to .500, but instead to start gaining even more games over .500. They need to make the moves now, do not wait for the deadline.

              • Sandy is going to have a good outing today. 7-8 innings.

                    • Man, has there ever been a quick rise and fall like this for a pitcher ever? Doesn't seem like he's injured. He's just lost it. He's not walking a ton of people either, his stuff is just super-hittable all of a sudden.

If everybody's healthy more like 6th or 7th.

No idea if it’s just an excuse or something real that he sees, but skip was on lebatard yesterday and he said he thinks his struggles have to do a lot with the wbc, the lack of pitch clock in it, how intense it is for so early in spring, and his lack of time afterwards to get used to the pitch clock.

haven’t looked into the numbers of other guys who pitched in it but he said other pitchers who pitched in it also have had struggles this year

                            I’m sorry but that’s bullshit.

Merrill Kelly is having a breakout year after doing the WBC.

                            • At least Jacob Stallings still gets to catch Sandy every outing. No need to switch that up.

Was thinking the same thing? What can he possibly do any worse over the last year and a half? Why is he allowed to just be terrible for way too long with no consequences
