Rodgers hasn't played much SS so I'm not sure he's the best fit. He's interesting though if he can handle the position. They may be forced to go the prospect route because no one else is available. It's Rosario, Adames, and Kim up in FA next 2 years. And yes I like Rosario and think there is some bat upside there, but his defense is cratering this year so far. SSS, but he may not be the OOOPMH they need here if he's going to have to shift to 2B/OF.

Frankly, and this isn't a joke, maybe they should draft 8 pitchers and 2 catchers this year with their first 10 picks in the draft because they are completely incapable of identifying hitters. Just focus on what you are good at and aim to trade out *many* pitchers for 3 starting bats. Let the draft supplant that longterm.

At least Jazz hit a HR tonight?
Rodgers was a SS coming up, wasn’t he? And he was gold glove at 2B. It feels like he’d be ok at SS.

The Lee thing is even more frustrating because Lee was universally seen as a better prospect, and was similar in terms of being an advanced college hitter, wasn’t going to command a ton of bonus money, and the Marlins still went elsewhere. They went against the grain simply because they aren’t good at evaluations.

    • it really is incredible how badly the braves have our number. every time we play them it feels like one of those late spring games where the big league team plays the local college team. just a completely different level than us.

Though it seemed like a good move at the time (like many of our recent moves), it's amazing how we just have 0 ability to draft/develop bats over the last.....decade? Was it Hill or Beinfest that drafted the Stanton/Realmuto/Yelich/Ozuna group? Bring them back for scouting hitters lol.

it was still a good move. it can not work out but still be the right move in my opinion. Wasn't it trevor richards and nick anderson for him? He was a top 100 prospect at the time. Nick anderson has pitched 32 innings since the start of 2020. Trevor richards has been mediocre for years. Sanchez isnt going to work out, but it doesnt mean it wasnt the right move. they just need to do a huge analysis into what the fuck their issue is with developing talented hitters.

Yup, I agree it was still a good move.....but like I said, there's too much of a track record recently of guys falling on their face when coming here. At least Arraez has been as-advertised.....hopefully he puts earplugs on when our hitting dept tries to talk to him lol.

              • We have a 15 game stretch in June where we play the A’s, Royals, White Sox, Mariners and Nationals.

It would be really great to win one of the next two games.

                • i get that the teams on paper look like we've had a tough schedule, but the record of the teams we have played so far have a combined record of 89-79. So 10 games over .500, with the braves themselves being 8 games over .500. out of the top 8 teams in the league so far, we've only played the braves and theyve kicked our ass. Granted, twins and mets are 9 and 10, but overall, the teams we have played have gotten off to fairly mediocre starts outside of the braves. we just havent had any cupcakes like the a's or nationals yet.

                  • Yup. The Braves kicked our ass twice in Atlanta with Mr. Unpredictable Edward Cabrera and Hoenig starting. With our best hitter not in the lineup.

what’s our record in Atlanta over the last 5 seasons? I honestly don’t know. I would guess our record in Atlanta is a nightmare?

                    • I’m not saying it’s the gospel but MLB has us as the 8th hardest schedule to date.

the braves absolutely own us. Their lineup completely destroys us 1-9. if the website im using is correct, since the start of 2020, they are 33-18 vs us. the 2 years prior combined they were 29-9 against us. So since 2018, it's 62-27.

                        • The Braves have won 25 of the last 34 games against the Marlins.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t get a Wild Card spot.

thank you. I was totally unaware of this.

I’m more curious as to how horrible our record is in Atlanta.

                            • Sandy has a 2.42 ERA in 10 starts vs Atlanta

Not that this was everyone's goal, but 13-13 is a good start IMO. Just win 1.

Arraez also back - and hitting cleanup (Jazz, Cooper, Soler).

5-9 looks completely insane with no DLC, Segura, Fortes, or Wendle starting.
