they should be all over him immediately. They have no talent at the position. even if he becomes the backup next year, go for it. He has a decent bat for his career for a catcher. Fairly average to slightly below average defensively. I dont see how you dont try to get him, but i also said the same thing for carson kelly and the brewers got him. You just have to upgrade these guys at this point. Even if it just rearranging deck chairs on the titanic. DFA stallings or send down fortes and get mejia and DFA wendle and go get Dejong. It just cant be worse than what we have seen this year.

Great outing from luzardo apparently. Big game for sandy today. Still just one our, and the cubs schedule of nothing but the worst teams in the league is coming to an end soon. 9 or 10 games upcoming against a rays team that hasn’t been impressive in a while and a bad nats team that is actually playing decent but we have their number. Need to win at least 6 of these next 9. 3rd wild card is the ideal spot at this point, we aren’t catching the Phillies they are simply better

I watched the 9th inning.

Robertson was garbage again. He walked another batter and Jazz bailed him out by tracking down a ball that was crushed to CF. This guy is gonna blow at least 1 or 2 big saves down the stretch.

Burger and bell have been such great additions for the lineup. Please go get a major league catcher and ss this offseason.

jazz can be super frustrating at times but he is now at 4.0 WAR over the last 2 years in just 124 games. He's graded tremendously in CF.

I think it's because they have this longterm and they view him as a 1B/DH/LF type.

Burger is certainly a quality bat, but the 1B/OF/DH five-some are going nowhere for awhile, Montgomery *probably* moves to 3B eventually hurting Burger there too, and they do need some pitching as they don't have much outside Cease and Santos. This is a pretty solid positional pipeline for them with a lot of control. Especially when they sign some longterm 2B/SS/3B here which they will in the next year or two. I get what they are doing for an arguably volatile high K rate/low defense guy like Burger (although the defense is pretty solid. this year), but I think it's a valid question if Eder off injury was the best he could get for him as Burger is pretty solid. I'm not worried about Eder's SSS with them so far, but .800+ OPS bats don't grow on trees these days and his analytics say more may be coming. Under 100 guys in baseball this year have that kind of offensive performance (min. 150 PA) so yes, I question too if Eder was the right guy for him.

Myers, Johnston, Edwards, and Hampson have all been hitting the shit out of the ball in AAA. Wonder who gets the call for Garcia. Id imagine it's hampson. But on a positive note it does open up 1 more spot for another guy like myers to come up when rosters expand. Id imagine we see Edwards, Hampson, and Myers all on the roster in september and Cabrera comes up for Weathers spot currently. I dont see any other pitchers deserving of call ups.

This is a good idea, and he'll be more valuable if robo-umps show up in a year and that has to be coming
