      It's me

You have no knowledge about these guys physical condition, work load management, personal/mental issues, if the front office is calling some moves, nothing. You're a fan who watches TV and reads news articles. When are you going to accept you don't know everything and there could be (and likely) explanations for what they are doing. These guys are tied for the last WC spot with the 5th worst run differential in the NL which is behind the Cardinals (13 under), five runs better than the Mets (11 under), and Padres (108 runs better for the Padres. 1-0-8). They have done a masterful job so far this year so getting to "fireable" is as stated - a BIT dramatic. Skip has probably made some boneheaded moves. There are likely health and strategy explanations for others, including the FO telling them certain pitchers gotta throw for mapping out availability. This isn't black and white as you want to make it. The end.

TLDR - "I have absolutely no idea how the Marlins are doing what they’re doing. Good luck to them."
        Good article

I’ll add that a commenter on that story pointed out that in high leverage situations in the 7th/8th/9th innings, the Marlins have the highest wOBA in MLB.

There are no coherent explanations for Berti and Gurriel sitting on the bench and sending garcia and Wendle up there based on a 7 ab sample size from 5 years ago. There are no explanations for pulling a rested nardi with 2 guys on after 13 pitches in favor of Lopez and letting lopez get completely lit up but not pulling him for some reason. There are no explanations for throwing weathers 95 pitches in a close game with the entire bullpen other than puk fully rested. You can continue to be an apologist all you want, they are flat out terrible moves. Doesnt make him the worst manager in the league, but they are bad moves. He's been bad for a month, if you can't admit that youre just not living in reality. He has been objectively bad. If you have to make up nonsense about the single most non-invasive owner and front office in the league twisting his arm to put in ryan fucking weathers of all people as if he was some major deadline acquisition like we got Verlander, you dont have an argument. Hopefully he gets back to the first half version soon, because he has been fucking awful for a month making decisions.

Find one manager in the history of MLB that doesn’t get Monday morning quarterback after-the-fact about in game decisions by his fanbase. Just make one.

            • Garcia gets AB’s because of how much he makes plain and simple.

Every single one of the things I have mentioned were criticized as they were being made both by me and marlins fans all over. These are not Monday morning quarterback criticisms. I have no problems if a good thought out move doesn’t work out. These moves are stupid and clear and obvious bad moves the second he makes them. That’s the entire point

                • With Cabrera still needing a bit of seasoning(likely from the lost 2020) and Eury needing to be monitored and limited, I really wish they would have moved for a decent but not real expensive SP like a Paul Blackburn who probably would have cost a similar amount to what was given up for Burger and Robertson
                  Amy Adams, AKA Cinnamon Muff
Logan Morrison: "If baseball didn't exist, I would probably be ... like a curler. Or a hairstylist."

Many are like that, but yeah, a lot of the moves lately are like "what, why?" in game.

                    • Cabrera walked 5 last night, though the last 3 were in his final inning so he clearly got tired. He needs a few more starts down there before we bring him back. He should be coming out of the bullpen in the brazoban soriano role when he comes back.

Xavier edwards didnt let the position switch fuck him up offensively last night. 2 for 3 with a walk, a double, and a steal. I dont care if the defense isnt great, we need his bat up here. We have no internal solution at C, that will have to be fixed in the offseason, but you have to at least give edwards a shot. Whatever positive defense Wendle has showed at SS is heavily outweighed by the complete 0 and honestly the negative value he provides offensively. If we had a competent catcher, i could see the argument for keeping him in there, but you cannot continue to have an 8 and 9 spot in the order that is a complete and total 0 night in and night out. It's not like edwards has no experience at SS. Will he make the spectacular plays? Probably not. But i doubt he will be such a liability as to make him unplayable at SS for the next month with how good his bat to ball skills appears to be. Then you re-evaluate next year, move Edwards to 2b, arraez to 1b, Bell to DH, and find a quality SS.

You call up Edwards and Amaya for Garcia and Wendle. Amaya is going to play defense and Wendle already doesn't hit. Amaya should hit lefties enough. It's fine to try out Edwards there for a pinch third SS option.

                          RHP

                          C Stallings/Fortes 50/50 split
                          1B/2B Arraez
                          2B/LF Edwards
                          SS Berti
                          3B Burger
                          LF/DH Soler
                          CF/DH Jazz
                          RF Sanchez
                          DH/1B Bell
-DLC plays a lot for rotating off days for Burger, Soler, and Bell
-Amaya a little for a Berti spell here and there
                          B - Stallings/Fortes, DLC, Amaya, Yuli

                          LHP

                          C Fortes
                          1B/2B Arraez
                          2B/OF Berti
                          SS Amaya
                          3B Burger
                          LF/OF DLC
                          CF Edwards
                          RF/DH Soler
                          DH/1B Bell
-Yuli plays for rotating off days for Arraez, Berti, and Edwards
B - Stallings, Yuli, Jazz, Sanchez

The only downside here is your OF defense is really skeptical beyond Jazz and Sanchez against RHP. But what can you do. This is their personnel. They can fix that next year not having Bell, Soler, and Yuli on the roster and just one of them. Presumably Bell.

Then Hampson can be added Sep. 1 which opens up options. And maybe Alfaro gets swapped for Stallings and Yuli for Dane/Johnston if they go fill youth.

And 15 of 16 going back another series.

So what we're saying is they're due for some losses. Marlins miss Kershaw at least.
