We should be sellers (decimated by injuries and we have the 5th hardest remaining schedule while Phillies and Cardinals are the opposite) but if the Marlins win 4 of the next 5 games, Bruce and Kim could be in a tough spot.

deluding themselves into thinking they should be buyers might be even worse than what they did this past offseason. I could see maybe an argument if meyer didn't get hurt with luzardo and cabrera on the cusp of coming back that they could play for this year and next year by dealing some prospects for a bat or 2 with team control, but at this point, once we trade pablo, we're going to be throwing a lot of slop out there for the last 2 months, as always.

Nick fortes has had a relatively small sample size but for a team desperate for bats and a long term solution at C, how is he still not playing every day? The bat seems legit good. He's obviously not like JT, but the background is similar, though I believe JT was drafted out of high school and fortes a college C. Both not first rounders but still relatively early picks (3rd and 4th round). Both put up fairly mediocre numbers their first few minor league years before taking a step. Both playing behind guys the team thought were the solution for a few years that could not have turned out worse.
If you remember, I believe salty was in his 2nd year here when they just said fuck it and cut bait very quickly into the 2nd year because of how bad he was and they turned to JT who put up mediocre numbers the first year but took of his 2nd year.
Not saying Fortes is JT, but give the kid a chance to prove himself. Catchers in general often times come out of nowhere to produce. It's such a hard position to play every day. Let the kid play. If the alternative is watching jacob stallings, wtf are we doing?
